Avalon, the upcoming Warzone map, might have been delayed or cancelled

Avalong may not even arrive after all

Extraction map overview from Black Ops 6 and part of Warzone's Avalon map

After Black Ops 6 launched, players were able to take a look at the upcoming Avalon map for Warzone since some multiplayer maps featured the map's layout outside their limits and theater mode allowed users to take a look at it.

Everyone was expecting this to arrive in Warzone at some point during the Black Ops 6 post-launch cycle, however, it appears that might not even be the case.

Leaker TheGhostOfHope on X (formerly Twitter) claimed that Avalon could be delayed from its original late 2025 release date or cancelled altogether. This is due to the developers shifting focus on the re-release of Verdansk, as that is probably the main priority at the moment.

The leaker also explained that while the map could be cancelled for Warzone, this could still arrive as a Zombies map for Call of Duty 2025. Rumors suggest this upcoming title will feature an Outbreak-like mode in Zombies, and Avalon could be the first map.

Outbreak was an open map mode originally introduced in Black Ops Cold War, where players could survive rounds of the undead in large-scale maps.

We will have to wait and see what the future holds for this new map that was already in development. In the meantime, you can check out everything we know about the upcoming Season 3 for Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
