In September 2026, Ubisoft released Operation Split Fire into Rainbow Six Siege. It was the third season of Year 11, the penultimate campaign of a year that began with the launch of Solid Snake seven months ago.
Although Operation Split Fire was launched just over a month ago, players are already looking forward to what Ubisoft have in store for Year 11 Season 4. The upcoming season of Rainbow Six Siege will be revealed on November 15 during the BLAST R6 Major Osaka Finals.
With six weeks left for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka grand final, it's too early to talk about Year 11 Season 4's reveal. However, the first key art for the event clearly was a teaser for the next and final operator remaster: Doc's rework.
Doc is a French defender whose ability allows him to heal his teammates and himself. His gadget is known as the STIM Pistol and each charge fully heals the affected operator. The pistol works like any other gun; he aims at who he wants to heal, triggers the device and the operator gets healed instantly. He can also use it to revive himself when he's in a DBNO state.
Although the concept around Doc may sound broken, the truth is that the French defender isn't played at all in the current meta. Before magnifying scopes were removed from defense, Doc was played by many: his MP5 with an ACOG was deadly. Unfortunately, no access to magnifying scopes means playing Doc is almost pointless, especially in a game where a headshot grants you a kill.

At the time of writing, we don't know much about Doc's rework. We expect Doc's loadout to be the same but his gadget is likely going to change. In fact, the previously mentioned key art already teases a change in his iconic STIM Pistol, as the picture shows a complete different device.
Players are speculating about the possible changes. It would be pointless to give Doc healing stations, as that would ruin Thunderbird's concept. Therefore, we expect Doc to still use a gun to heal his teammates. If that's the case, we think Doc's remaster will still be very limited; healing with a pistol forces either low-HP defenders to leave their positions to move close to Doc or Doc to stop doing what he's doing to get close to his low-HP teammates.
At the same time, this wouldn't solve one of the big issues behind Doc: many players use Doc as a lone wolf to roam, using the STIM Pistol as a device to heal themselves once things are going south.
The truth is that reworking an operator like Doc is difficult. Finding the balance between respecting his legacy whilst improving what he's able to do is hard. Making Doc a roamer wouldn't be a solution as that would completely ignore his concept; after all, he's a doctor who heals his teammates. It wouldn't make any sense to start seeing Doc roaming around the map, ignoring his commrades.
Doc's remaster will be presented at the BLAST R6 Major Osaka. We will update this article as soon as we know more details about the changes. For more information about Rainbow Six Siege and its esports scene, make sure to check out Siege.GG.
