One month after announcing Rainbow Six Siege X during the Six Invitational 2025 Finals played in Boston's MGM Music Hall, Ubisoft unveiled all of the features coming in the game's most ambitious chapter at the Rainbow Six Siege X Showcase held in Atlanta, Georgia.
It's fair to say Rainbow Six Siege will change with the release of Rainbow Six Siege X. The update will bring tenths of brand-new features, and most of them were announced in the Year 10 Roadmap reveal and the Operation Daybreak reveal.
Logically, the news have left the community extremely excited and some are desperate to know more about how the new features will melt into the game.
Fortunately, you won't have to wait long to have all of the brand-new features in the live version of the game as Rainbow Six Siege X will go live on June 10. In fact, you can already try out all of the features in the Test Server, which opened on May 20.
However, there are more good news: newcomers will have it easier than ever before to try out the game as Rainbow Six Siege is giving free access to newcomers with Rainbow Six Siege X.

While Rainbow Six Siege newcomers will have free access to the game, players who download the free-to-play version will have access to a limited number of features and play lists, including Quick Play, Unranked, Rainbow Six Siege's new 6v6 game mode Dual Front, and 26 operators. Meanwhile, the competitive game modes Ranked and Siege Cup, as well as the rest of operators, will remain locked.
In other words, the Rainbow Six Siege free-to-play version is intended to be downloaded by those who want to give the game a first shot. If newcomers are convinced and want to take the next step, they will still have to purchase Rainbow Six Siege.
It's important to highlight that players who purchased Rainbow Six Siege before the release of Rainbow Six Siege X will keep access to all sort of content, including progression, skins, operators, access to competitive playlists, and more.
Meanwhile, players who have purchased Rainbow Six Siege before the release of Rainbow Six Siege X will be considered veteran players. As a gesture of gratitude, Ubisoft will give them a reward for every year in the game as well as a badge showcasing the year of arrival.
All in all, Ubisoft's idea behind this new free-to-play concept is to attract newcomers and keeping them long enough in the game to convince them to stay. At the same time, Ubisoft is rewarding veteran players for their loyalty to Rainbow Six Siege; without them, the game wouldn't be what it is today. Everybody wins!
