Rainbow Six Siege release new Black Ice universal collection — except it's actually not universal

To celebrate Ubisoft's 40th anniversary, Ubisoft rewarded players with a free Red Black Ice for the 5.7 USG pistol. The skin could be claimed easily in the Highlights section, found in the in-game shop.

However, the celebrations didn't stop there, as Ubisoft launched today a Universal Black Ice bundle for USD$50. For those unaware, universal skins in Rainbow Six Siege can be equipped in any gun in the game. In other words, Ubisoft gave players the possibility to buy a variation of the iconic Black Ice that can be used on any weapon. Although the cosmetic is expensive, it's actually a cool and unique piece to have.

Unfortunately, there has been a mistake as this Black Ice Bundle isn't meant to be universal—even though the bundle is marked as a universal skin. Some players have already purchased the bundle thinking they would be able to equip the cosmetic on all of their guns, but that hasn't been the case.

The Black Ice Bundle is, apparently, only equippable on Ash's R4-C and Mute's MP5K. Those are the only weapon skins included in the bundle even though the bundle description also mentions Smoke's M590A1 shotgun and Azami's 9x19VSN.

At the time of writing, Ubisoft haven't mentioned anything about the situation. Logically, Ubisoft haven't said anything about potential giving the players their credits back as most of them bought the bundle thinking the skins would be universal. Given how expensive the bundle is, we believe Ubisoft will come up with a solution sooner rather than later.
