FNATIC have qualified for Rainbow Six Siege's Esports World Cup 2026 after taking down G2 Esports following an absurdly close series that ended in a 2-1 score for the orange roster. The game included two overtimes and a 7-5 score, meaning 41 out of a maximum of 45 rounds were played.

G2 Esports had the better start to the series after taking Lair following an 8-6 victory. Next, FNATIC bounced back with a 7-5 win on Chalet. Finally, the orange roster secured their presence at the Esports World Cup 2026 with a maximum overtime win on Kafe Dostoyevsky.
With a SiegeGG rating of 1.18, the Six Berlin Major champion Tom "Deapek" Pieksma was the best player of the series. Whilst he could only average a SiegeGG rating of 0.88 on Lair, he had outstanding performances on Chalet and Kafe Dostoyevsky, where he scored ratings of 1.26 and 1.40, respectively.
This win means the world to FNATIC. For the first time since moving to Europe, the orange esports organization has qualified for an international event. It's also the team's first international qualification in over six years, as the last international event they qualified for was the Six Invitational 2020. Keep in mind that they got invited to play in RE:L0:AD.
If that wasn't enough, this is FNATIC's first win against G2 Esports since the team's former Australian roster beat the samurai at the Six Invitational 2020. Since then, the Berlin-based powerhouse had beaten FNATIC eight consecutive times.
Meanwhile, this defeat means G2 Esports will miss out on an international event for the first time since not qualifying for the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2024. Last year, in the 2025 edition, the samurai had reached the tournament's grand final, where they lost against Team Secret.
