After 10 months with Spacestation Gaming, Alexander "Skys" Magor has left the team. The move was announced on Jul. 16 on Twitter by the organization.

Skys initially found success of a series of rosters ever since Year One of R6 esports. After translating an NA-topping Pro League Season 3 into a 2017 Six Invitational win on the Xbox, he then switched to the PC where he competed on organizations such as Elevate, Team Reciprocity, and DarkZero Esports. During this time, he attended eight global events, peaking with a second-place exit during Pro League Season 5 and semi-finals results during SI 2019 and Pro League Season 10.

Following this in September 2021, Skys joined Spacestation Gaming, where he replaced Javier "Thinkingnade" Escamilla and reunited with his former teammate from DarkZero, Matthew "Hotancold" Stevens.

After he joined, SSG debuted with a quarter-finals appearance at the Six Sweden Major -- the best result of all North American teams. A 9-12th place exit followed at the 2022 Six Invitational which, while better than their SI 2021 result, was the worst result of all NA teams present.

Now, most recently, the team's 2022 season progress has seen them miss out on both the Charlotte and Berlin Majors.

While both stages were tight, coming down to the final play day, this is still well below what is expected from Spacestation Gaming, likely leading to the change.

Skys initially debuted on the roster as the hard breach and planter, a role he kept at SI 2022. In the 2022 season, however, things changed as this role went to Bosco and Skys moved to more of a flex position.

This initially worked out well, as he secured the third-highest SiegeGG Rating in the whole NA League at 1.20, tied with Astralis' David "iconic" Ifidon. By Stage 2, however, this had dropped down to 0.98, as he suffered the biggest drop of all SSG players -- though he still had the third-highest Rating in the team.

Missing out on the Berlin Major means that it is almost certain that Spacestation Gaming will need to go through the open qualifiers to reach the Six Invitational 2023.

SSG are no strangers to this, as they took the same route on the way to their SI 2020 title. However, this means if they think a change is necessary, it's best to do it now rather than after Stage 3 -- just a few weeks before the open qualifiers begin.

Spacestation Gaming will now be looking for a replacement player, while Skys will be looking for a new team. Stay tuned for more information when it is announced.
