Earlier today, the Esports World Cup unveiled the shape of the group stage brackets of the Siege X Esports World Cup. Twenty of the best Rainbow Six Siege X teams in the world will travel in August to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to get a share of the tournament's USD$2M prize pool.
While the group stage format hasn't been unveiled yet, we expect the first group stage games to be BO1 series. Meanwhile, elimination matches should be BO3 series.
Here's how each group looks:
Group A
The Group A of the Siege X Esports World Cup will include the following matches:
- G2 Esports vs. Gen.G Esports
- Weibo Gaming vs. Shopify Rebellion
- BNK FEARX vs. Virtus.pro
- FaZe Clan vs. DarkZero Esports
G2 Esports will play against Gen.G Esports in their first match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The samurai should be the favorites to win the match after topping the standings of the Europe and MENA League 2025 Stage 1. The last time both teams faced off was on June 30, when G2 Esports got a comfortable 7-2 win.
At the same time, Weibo Gaming and Shopify Rebellion will face off for the first time in Rainbow Six Siege X. It will be the fans' first chance to see William "Spoit" Löfstedt's first international appearance for Shopify Rebellion. Curiously enough, the Swede will play against his former Rogue and KOI coach Matthew "meepeY" Sharples, with whom he won the Six Berlin Major.
Shortly after, BNK FEARX and Virtus.pro will meet in Group A's first game. Believe it or not, it will be Virtus.pro's first match against a South Korean team. In fact, the former Team Empire core's last game against a South Korean team was at the Six Invitational 2022, over three years ago.
Finally, the last game of Group A's first round will be the clash between FaZe Clan and DarkZero Esports. It will be the first time since the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta that both teams face off. It's worth mentioning that the Brazilians have won the last four encounters, including games at the Six Invitational 2021, Six Invitational 2022, Six Invitational 2023, and the previously mentioned BLAST R6 Major Atlanta.
The defeated sides will fall to the Lower Bracket, while the winners will move to the next round. Winning a second match in the Upper Bracket will award teams a spot in the playoffs.
Group B
The Group B of the Siege X Esports World Cup will include the following matches:
- Team Falcons vs. Team Secret
- Spacestation vs. w7m esports
- ENTERPRISE Esports vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas
- FURIA Esports vs. Oxygen Esports
Just like Group A, Group B's action will kick off with an European clash as Team Falcons and Team Secret will meet for the fourth time this season. This season's record currently includes one Secret and two Falcons wins, with the French-majority roster's record including a BO1 and a BO3 victories.
Meanwhile, Spacestation will play against w7m esports in what will be their sixth game in the last two years. Since the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta, both teams have only avoided themselves twice, at the BLAST R6 Major Manchester and at RE:L0:AD.
Later on, it will be the turn of the tournament's Cinderellas, ENTERPRISE Esports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Oxygen Esports. These are teams that nobody expected to see in Riyadh, but they managed to steal the show in their respective regions. The Oceania League 2025 Stage 1 winners, ENTERPRISE Esports, will play against the shinobi, while Oxygen Esports will play against the RE:L0:AD champions, FURIA Esports.
Just like in Group A, the defeated sides will fall to the Lower Bracket, while the winners will move to the next round. Winning a second match in the Upper Bracket will award teams a spot in the playoffs.
