The BLAST R6 Major Osaka will be played from November 6 to November 15, 2026. It will be the final BLAST R6 Major of the season and the teams' final chance to earn SI Points to qualify for the Six Invitational 2027.
The tournament will include 20 teams; four from Europe and MENA, North America, South America, and China each, two from the Asian sub-region, and one from the Oceanic and the APAC North sub-regions each.
The BLAST R6 Major Osaka will be divided into three phases: Play-Ins, Swiss Stage, and Playoffs. The Playoffs will be the only part of the tournament played in front of a crowd, as the final seven matches will be played in Osaka's ATC Hall.
After a heated week of action beetween October 5 and October 11, we now know 17 of the 20 teams that will be in Osaka.
Here's a look at the four confirmed teams:
G2 Esports
G2 Esports qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka after beating Virtus.pro at the BLAST R6 Europe and MENA League 2026 Stage 2 Playoffs.
The samurai's best-ever finish at a Six Major was eight years ago, when the Berlin-based esports powerhouse won the Six Paris Major. Since then, the team produced some more deep runs. The last time they were so close to lifting the trophy was at the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen, played in May 2023.
Earlier this season, G2 Esports reached the Top 8 at the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City. Their performance in Utah combined with their results in their home region are already enough to mathematically secure themselves a spot at the Six Invitational 2027.
G2 Esports' most popular player is Zack "Stompn" Lamb, who was named as Year 10's Rookie of the Year. The American has been G2 Esports' second-best player of the stage with an average SiegeGG rating of 1.23. He's only surpassed by Benjamin "Benjamaster" Dereli, who currently averages a SiegeGG rating of 1.25.
Team Falcons
Team Falcons qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka after beating Geekay Esports at the BLAST R6 Europe and MENA League 2026 Stage 2 Playoffs.
Team Falcons' best-ever finish at a Six Major was one year ago, when the team reached the BLAST R6 Major Munich grand final. Unfortunately for the players and their fans, they lost the final game against M80. However, Team Falcons' core, including Théo "LikEfac" Mariano and Loïc "BriD" Chongthep, won the Six Jönköping Major—the last Major played before BLAST took over Rainbow Six Siege's esports scene.
Historically, Team Falcons' roster have been close to winning a BLAST R6 Major edition three times. Before the arrival of Marc "jume" Steinmann, who signed for the lineup to replace Stéphane "Shaiiko" Lebleu, the team reached the BLAST R6 Major Manchester and the BLAST R6 Major Montreal grand finals before doing the same in Munich. All of those runs ended in defeat.
In other words, whilst Team Falcons haven't been able to transform either of those deep runs in victory, they are a well-experienced team that has the potential to lift the trophy. Only a few months ago, the players reached the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City quarterfinals, where they lost to the back-to-back world champions FaZe Clan.
Virtus.pro
Virtus.pro qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka after beating Twisted Minds at the BLAST R6 Europe and MENA League 2026 Stage 2 Playoffs. The Bears had previously lost to G2 Esports but confirmed their spot in Japan in the Lower Bracket.
After a rough Year 10, Virtus.pro got back to regularly qualifying for international competitions after expanding their roster, going from a complete Russian lineup to a mix of Russian and French. The project is led by the Six Sweden Major champion César "Dark" Adriano.
Virtus.pro's best result at a BLAST R6 Major is a Top 4 finish at the BLAST R6 Major Montreal. After missing out on the BLAST R6 Major Munich, the team made a return to international heights with a Top 11 finish at the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City. Now, the team aims at improving the result to mathematically qualify for the Six Invitational 2027.
Geekay Esports
Geekay Esports qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka after beating Shifters at the BLAST R6 Europe and MENA League 2026 Stage 2 Playoffs. The team had previously lost to Team Falcons in the Upper Bracket and ended up qualifying for the event after a thrilling 2-1 win against the Swiss esports powerhouse.
The BLAST R6 Major Osaka will be Geekay Esports' first appearance at a BLAST R6 Major since featuring at the BLAST R6 Major Manchester. Back then, the team couldn't survive the Phase 1.
Geekay Esports is one of the teams that has grown the most since the start of the season. The team started the year with a negative result in the region's Kickoff as they couldn't qualify for the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City. After the additions of the former Team Heretics duo Dawid "Gruby" Marciniak and Harvey "Eupor" Hawkins as well as the signing of the former M80, XSET, and Oxygen Esports player Evan "Yoggah" Nelson, Geekay Esports' results have improved a lot. The team reached the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026 semifinals and have now qualified for Osaka.
FaZe Clan
FaZe Clan qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka as South America's first seed. The back-to-back world champions dominated the region in Stage 2, topping the group stage standings with seven wins and just two defeats. In the playoffs, the Brazilians were crowned as stage champions after three 2-0 wins against Black Dragons and Team Liquid Alienware twice.
Without a doubt, FaZe Clan are one of the favorites to win the BLAST R6 Major Osaka next month. If the Brazilians won the tournament, they would become the first roster to win it all, including a Six Invitational, a BLAST R6 Major, and an Esports World Cup.
Team Liquid Alienware
Team Liquid Alienware finished the BLAST R6 South America League 2026 Stage 2 in second place. The Brazilians spent the biggest part of the split behind FaZe Clan; just like the world champions, they won seven of their nine group stage games. However, in the playoffs, their 2-0 win against FURIA was followed by two 0-2 defeats against FaZe Clan and a 2-1 comeback win against Fluxo W7M.
Their second place finish in Stage 2 combined with their BLAST R6 Major Osaka puts them in a strong position to qualify for the Six Invitational 2027 in the next few days. To do so, they will need a good performance in Japan and other results to go in their way.
Fluxo W7M
Fluxo W7M headed to Stage 2 after making three changes as they added two new players, Diogo "Fntzy" Lima and Gabriel "Hatez" Kobuszewski, as well as a new coach, Daniel "dan" Souza.
The team's initial results were highly disappointing as Fluxo W7M could only win one of their first five matches. Fortunately for them, the players managed to bounce back as they claimed four wins in their last four group stage games, a run that included wins against Team Liquid Alienware and FURIA.
Eventually, Fluxo W7M's 2-0 win against FURIA saw them qualify for Osaka. One day later, they improved their seeding by beating LOS in the playoff's Lower Bracket.
LOS
For the third international event in a row, LOS will have to go through the play-ins to reach an event's group stage phase. In Salt Lake City, the team comfortably reached the Swiss Stage, where they could only grab one win. Meanwhile, at the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026, back-to-back defeats against FNATIC and CAG by VARREL saw them missing out on the second phase of the event.
Osaka will be a crucial moment in LOS' season as the Brazilians are in a rough position on the Six Invitational 2027 Global Standings. Luckily for them, they are still in full control of their future.
Cloud9
Cloud9's last international appearance in Rainbow Six Siege was in RE:L0:AD, in May 2025. Since then, Cloud9 have struggled to perform well in North America's top flight. Their qualification for Osaka caught everyone by surprise; alongside 100 Thieves, they are one of the two reasons behind Wildcard and Shopify Rebellion's absences.
Regardless of how surprising Cloud9's qualification is, the truth is that they have dominated Stage 2. Cloud9 finished the group stage with eight wins and just one defeat and had no major issues to qualify for Osaka after a 2-0 win against the BLAST R6 Salt Lake City champions, DarkZero Esports.
100 Thieves
100 Thieves was the second North American team to qualify for Osaka after a 2-0 victory against Shopify Rebellion in the BLAST R6 North America League 2026 Stage 2 Playoffs. This will be the team's first international appearance since joining the Rainbow Six Siege esports ecosystem in February 2026.
DarkZero Esports
The defending BLAST R6 Major champions qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka after a 2-1 win against Spacestation. The Americans struggled to qualify for the playoffs; in fact, their backs were between a wall and a hard place after losing the first map of the series against the astronauts. Although the purple roster ended up qualifying for Osaka, their inconsistency this season is worrying.
M80
M80's comeback this season is historical. By the end of the sixth playday, M80 were at the bottom of the standings with three points. Three playdays later, they sneaked in the playoffs after three consecutive regulation wins. Finally, the team clinched a spot at the BLAST R6 Major Osaka after a 2-0 win against Shopify Rebellion.
We will update this article as soon as more teams qualify for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka. For more information about Rainbow Six Siege and its esports scene, make sure to check out Siege.GG.
