Rainbow Six Siege's new operator Noor nerfed four days after reveal

Apparently this was just a bug.

Noor Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft has nerfed Noor four days after revealing the Egyptian defender during the Esports World Cup 2026. Rainbow Six Siege's new operator will be released on September 1, 2026, as part of Operation Split Fire.

The first teaser of Noor was released in February 2026 during the Six Invitational 2026. Back then, Ubisoft displayed a short animation where fans could see an operator shooting projectiles at shield users. In other words, Ubisoft had just presented the first anti-shield operator in the game.

Six months later, the first reactions about Noor had been a bit underwhelming as his gadget was mostly seen as a hard breaching denial gadget. What had been initially presented as a shield counter was going to be used as a hard breaching denial tool, equivalent to Tubarao, Kaid, or Bandit's operator gadgets.

The images released by multiple content creators had left a big part of the community concerned. However, Ubisoft has already nerfed Noor... or, was it really a nerf?

According to Ubisoft's blog post, Noor was never supposed to be so strong against hard breaching gadgets. In fact, this nerf is only a fix: the activation time of Noor's device was supposed to be longer on reinforcements.

The reactions to this change have surprisingly been mixed. Some people believe this change isn't good as this makes Noor obsolete; they believe his potential to counter shields isn't strong enough. Meanwhile, some others believe this change is great, as Noor was too strong against hard breachers.

What do you think about this Noor change? Do you think Ubisoft should have released Noor in its previous state? You can leave your opinion down below.
