Rainbow Six Siege new season Operation Split Fire to be released on September 1

Here's when the new season of Siege will be released.

Operation Split Fire

Rainbow Six Siege's new season Operation Split Fire will be released on September 1, 2026. Ubisoft confirmed the news during the season's reveal which happened right before the start of the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026 grand final.

Operation Split Fire will be Rainbow Six Siege's third season of Year 11. It's headed by Noor who has been introduced as the ultimate counter to shields. However, content creators who have already tried out the new season have found out that Noor's gadget can be used as hard breach denial utility. This means that Noor players will likely end up ignoring their archenemies (shield attackers) to focus on reinforced walls.

Operation Split Fire will also include operator balancing changes, a map targeted update on Villa, two new time-limited events including a drone race event and a 3v3 arcade playlist, as well as the release of the Legends Division and tweaks to Ranked 3.0.

Overall, Operation Split Fire feels like a season that mainly focuses on improving the health of the game. This should be highly appreciated by Rainbow Six Siege fans. Unfortunately, the initial general feeling is that the new season doesn't include enough brand-new content.

If you're one of these fans, don't be afraid. Operation Split Fire's operator changes tackle a handful of situations that caused much frustration, including the SMG-12, the state of defensive DMRs, Dokkaebi's gadget, and more. In other words, releasing more brand-new content isn't always the solution; polishing what already exists is also a priority for Ubisoft's developers.

Operation Split Fire will be launched on September 1, 2026. Only a few days later, competitive teams will get back to action as the 20-best teams will qualify for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka. It will be the players' last chance to qualify for the Six Invitational 2027 before the start of the Last Chance Qualifiers.
