Some good news, PC fans.

Ahead of the release of Rainbow Six Siege's new season Operation Collision Point, the fans' reactions regarding Blackbeard's shield have taken over the community. While some players believe he's properly balanced, others think the release of Blackbeard will make attackers even stronger.

However, Blackbeard isn't the only talking point of Operation Collision Point. Some extremely positive features will be released to Rainbow Six Siege in the upcoming weeks, including the long-awaited crossplay between Console and PC, the full release of the Siege Cup, operator balancing features including the shield nerf, and many quality-of-life updates.

Unfortunately, not all of the upcoming changes were warmly welcomed by the community. Following Ubisoft's full reveal, PC players complained about the team's decision to remove DX11 from Rainbow Six Siege, leaving DX12 as the only playable version.

Since Ubisoft's decision to remove Vulkan in Operation Twin Shells, many PC players experienced FPS issues while using DX11 and DX12. If that wasn't enough, some of them said the game doesn't run while using DX12.

Although Ubisoft has been trying to solve these issues throughout Year 9 Season 3, the truth is the community is still furious at the change. However, after listening to the people's complaints, Ubisoft has decided to postpone the removal of DX11 to Year 10. The announcement was made in an update posted on November 21 on Rainbow Six Siege's official X account:

We heard PC players' feedback on the removal of DX11. While this change is inevitable since we are planning for significant improvements that couldn't be supported by DX11, we've decided to keep it as an option until the end of Y9S4 to help ensure a smoother transition for those still using it, while we continue to work on improving the experience with DX12. Please use R6Fix to report on DX12, so that we can fix the residual issues associated with it.

While some players appreciated Ubisoft's clear communication with the fans, others asked for the return of Vulkan. However, with the change to DX12 being inevitable, players should forget about Vulkan. It's part of the past.
