Season 5 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone will kick off soon, and we are now waiting for the patch notes detailing all the upcoming changes. We are approaching the latter stages of the current game cycle, but that doesn't mean we won't see unexpected or major changes.
Before the notes are posted, we have gathered all the details we have, along with our expectations of the changes and additions we could see this time, apart from the ones already announced with the roadmap and blog posts.
When does Black Ops 6 Season 5 come out?
Season 5 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone is scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 7th, at 9:00 AM PT (5:00 PM BST). PC players can preload the patch to have everything downloaded and ready for when the new season begins. On the other hand, the preload for console players will begin a few hours before launch, as has always been the case.
What do we know about the patch notes?
The patch notes for Black Ops 6 Season 5 are expected to be shared at least 24 hours before the new season begins. In the meantime, we can speculate and make some predictions about the changes we will see this time.
For starters, the update should bring several balance changes for the game's weapons. Even though the competitive season for Black Ops 6 ended a few weeks ago with the Esports World Cup 2025, developers tend to keep tweaking weapons at this stage of the yearly cycle.

With Black Ops 6's content expected to carry over to Black Ops 7, just like what happened with MW2 and MW3, it won't be a surprise if the developers are still managing the meta.
Quality-of-life additions, UI improvements, changes to Ranked settings, and bug fixes are among the other things we expect from this update. Once we have the complete patch notes, we will update this article to have all the information in one place.
