Gen.G Esports have qualified for the Siege X Esports World Cup after a 2-1 victory against MACKO Esports.
The French-majority roster's win against the Italian side means they will finish the first stage in fifth place, which doesn't only award the players a spot in the upcoming Esports World Cup but also 50 SI Points.
After a one-sided 7-2 victory on MACKO Esports' map pick, Lair, Gen.G Esports seemed to be one map away from Riyadh. However, the Italians fought back with a 7-4 win on Kafe Dostoyevsky. Curiously enough, it was the first MACKO performance on the Russian map since January 2025.
Finally, Gen.G Esports finished the job with another 7-2 victory, this time on Nighthaven Labs. The best players of the series were Ilhan "Nayqo" Jabbari and Christopher "SkyZs" Jauleski with SiegeGG ratings of 1.24 and 1.15.
Under ENCE, the French-majority roster couldn't qualify for any international competition as they lost back-to-back Major Last Chance Qualifier grand finals against G2 Esports. Now, while playing for Gen.G Esports, the Europeans will finally compete internationally.
With Gen.G Esports being confirmed as the region's fifth seed, we now know the teams that will represent the EML, including G2 Esports, Team Falcons, Team Secret, Virtus.pro, and Gen.G Esports. This means that the partnered teams Fnatic and Team BDS will miss out on the Esports World Cup.
