Former Ninjas in Pyjamas core to play in South America's top flight as Lucky Five

The former Ninjas in Pyjamas core, including Gabriel "Pino" Fernandes, Guilherme "Bassetto" Bassetto, and Gustavo "Wizard" Gomes will continue competing together in South America's top flight under the name of Lucky Five. The three former shinobi have been joined by the also former Ninjas in Pyjamas player and Six Invitational 2021 champion Gustavo "Psycho" Rigal and the Six Mexico Major champion Caio "Neskin" Szazi.

The signings of Psycho and Neskin mean these two will make a return to South America's top flight for the first time since the end of Year 9. Moreover, we will see the Six Invitational 2021 champions Psycho and Pino playing together for the first time since Psycho's departure from the team in January 2025. The two of them had also competed together alongside Wizard, who had joined Ninjas in Pyjamas for the first time in June 2022. His first stay for the shinobi lasted two years.

Initially, the roster was going to compete under SuperNova Team. However, although the players had already completed the league's media day, the deal was called off after presumably a bigger esports organization knocked on the door. According to reports by R6atualizado, Team Vitality held talks with Ubisoft to acquire the Brazilian lineup. More recent informations point towards Team Vitality joining the R6 Share Program in 2027.

Keeping three players from the former Ninjas in Pyjamas team was important as that's the main requirement so the roster can keep the SI Points collected until now. After qualifying for the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City and finishing in fifth place at the BLAST R6 South America League 2026 Stage 1, Lucky Five have now 850 SI Points. The Brazilians are in 16th place on the Global Standings, the last one on the table that awards a spot at the Six Invitational 2027.

If Lucky Five were to qualify for the Six Invitational 2027 it wouldn't be a shock if the players represented Team Vitality in Rainbow Six Siege's most iconic stage.
