Are you wondering who the new Ikora voice actor is in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate? Don't worry, you're not alone, Guardian.
Bungie has plenty of changes coming with The Edge of Fate, from a new way to grind Power Level, the way infusion works, and new currencies like Unstable Cores being key to progression. One unexpected change was that of voice casting.
Ikora Rey has had two major voices throughout the years: Gina Torres and Mara Junot. Now, a third actor has joined the cast to bring the Warlock Vanguard to life.
Who is the new Ikora voice actor in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate
Debra Wilson voices Ikora Rey in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate. She is widely known within the community as the iconic voice behind Savathun, the Witch Queen herself.

A third Ikora Rey has hit the servers
Debra's cadence and tone are very distinct, which is why fans could immediately spot the difference between her and Mara Junot as soon as the first Edge of Fate cutscene played out.
Why was the Ikora voice actor changed?
Back in May, Bungie announced that Junot would not be available to record her lines for The Edge of Fate. This is because she was involved in the SAG-AFTRA video game voice actors' strike.
The strike started in July 2024 and focused on securing more protection for talent amid the surge of AI-generated content using their likeness without consent.
Is the new Ikora voice actor permanent?
No, Bungie has confirmed that they are re-recording lines for affected characters, including Ikora Rey.
There is no specific date for when the new lines will be finalized, but Bungie will keep fans updated on any new information.
It seems that if you play The Edge of Fate early, you'll have a small piece of trivia you'll be able to bust out with lapsed Destiny 2 players down the line, similarly to how all traces of Peter Dinklage were erased from the original game. Real ones still remember Dinklebot.
