Want to know how infusion works in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate? We've got you covered.

Among the many massive system changes Bungie is introducing with this new expansion, infusion is one of the most important ones. Making sure your gear and weapons are constantly giving you that extra Power Level bonus will make sure you always have your favorite builds ready for endgame content.

If you're a veteran, you'll want to try to master the new infusion system as soon as possible. For a newcomer, understanding it is also key. With that said, this is what you need to know about how infusion works in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate.

How to infuse in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate?

To infuse in The Edge of Fate, you'll need Enhancement Cores and Unstable Cores. You can use a gear of higher Power and infuse it into a piece of gear or weapon with less Power but better stats to make it stronger. That process remains pretty much the same.

Infusion will be different in The Edge of Fate

Now, both currencies serve different purposes. Enhancement Cores will help you infuse gear within the regular PL cap, which is 200 (check out our Power Level guide for a full breakdown).

Unstable Cores are a new, different currency that will come into effect when you reach the 200PL soft cap. You'll use Unstable Cores to infuse gear that has bonus Seasonal Power. In other words, any piece of armor or weapon that goes past the soft cap of 200PL will require you to spend Unstable Cores.

What happened to Upgrade Modules?

Upgrade Modules will be phased out with Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate.

If you have Upgrade Modules in your inventory, you can safely dismantle them to earn 5000 Glimmer and one Enhancement Core. Some may like the change, others see it as a way for Bungie to pad the time spent grinding new materials. In any case, Upgrade Modules are a thing of the past.
