Are you a new Destiny 2 player confused about what ritual activities are and how to play them? Don't worry, we got you covered.

Destiny 2 offers plenty of content for players to enjoy. Each can be divided into different segments. Some can be categorized as seasonal content, meaning they are tied to a specific Episode or Act. Others are more permanent, like ritual activities.

Ritual activities are the bread and butter of Destiny 2 and the more common playlists players will find themselves in after they've completed all seasonal or limited-time content.

What is a ritual activity in Destiny 2?

There are three types of ritual activities in Destiny 2. Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit. Each caters to a specific type of player, so whether you enjoy PvE, PvP, or a mix of both, there's something in each for you.

Each one offers a unique playlist or modes players can boot up endlessly without needing to constantly load a certain portion of the Destiny 2 playable zones. Hence the name, ritual activities.

You'll find these activities at the top of the directory, in the highlighted section of the image below.

This is where you'll find ritual playlists

As mentioned each offers a unique set of things to do. Whether you like the intense feeling of facing off against other players on PvP or want to have a good time exploding heads in PvE:

  • Vanguard: This is your standard PvE mode revolving around three-player activities such as Strikes or Battlegrounds
  • Crucible: All Destiny 2 PvP modes compiled in one place. You have standard 6v6 or more intense 3v3 matches
  • Gambit: A mix of PvP and PvE where players compete to clear out an area from enemies faster than the other

Whenever you're tasked with doing objectives in ritual activities. Now you know where to go to complete them. While you're at it, you can also start completing some Pathfinder rewards as well.
