Want to know how the new Destiny 2 Portal hub works? Then we'll break down everything you need to know.
The Edge of Fate is shaking things massively in Bungie's looter shooter. From the way the Artifact and Power Level work, to how players will access the new activities in Destiny 2. Enter the Portal.
This new hub will aim to make things more seamless for both returning and new players when The Edge of Fate starts. So let's get into what exactly the Portal features.
What is the Portal in Destiny 2?
Portal is a new tab that will group together relevant content in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate and beyond.
In it, you'll find several options that will cater to solo players, those with a fireteam, PvE'rs, and those into PvP. The idea is to make it an easy-to-access hub regardless of what you're into.

Bungie is revamping the player experience
There are four main tabs:
- Solo Ops
- Fireteam Ops
- Pinnacle Ops
- Crucible Ops
Let's break down what you'll find in each.
Solo Ops
Solo Ops is content that can be done, as the name suggests, by a single player. Things such as Strikes and more content will live on this playlist. You can add modifiers to improve your chances of better loot.
Fireteam Ops
Most of the three-player activities will live on these playlists. Think Onslaught, Strikes, Nightmare Hunts, and replayable seasonal missions.
Pinnacle Ops
All the exotic missions available during Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate will be in the Pinnacle Ops playlist. There won't be a weekly rotator, meaning you can jump into any exotic mission you want to get the weapon you desire. You can do Fireteam Finder (matchmaking) in case you're a solo player.
Crucible Ops
For the PvP lovers. Most of the Crucible modes can be found here. Very self-explanatory.
Destiny 2 Seasonal Hub explained
The Seasonal Hub in Destiny 2 features daily and weekly challenges. You'll also find Conquest challenges and be able to track your Conqueror seal.

The Seasonal Hub looks like a decent addition
Found at the top right corner of the Portal, the Seasonal Hub will feature a slew of daily and weekly challenges that players can complete to earn rewards from a free reward path that's separate from the regular season pass.
The best part of the Seasonal Hub is that players can acquire up to two pieces of armor and weapons that are of very high tier, making the chase worthwhile.
Once we get the full details on the rewards available, we'll update this guide.
Is The Portal replacing the directory in Destiny 2?
No, the Portal and directory will both co-exist in Destiny 2.
The Portal is simply designed to streamline the content for new players, but veterans can still use the directory like they've been doing for the past 11 years.
