Black Ops 7 is the next stop for Call of Duty players, but rumors about future titles are already making the rounds as development begins behind the curtains.

That is the case for Call of Duty 2027, which we know Sledgehammer Games is currently working on as the main developer. Leaker TheGhostOfHope posted a new rumor on X (formerly Twitter), revealing more details about this new game.

For starters, the leaker reveals that the studio is not developing Advanced Warfare 2 as previously rumored. Instead, they are working on a completely new subfranchise set in the modern era.

No jetpacks or Zombies mode are planned for the game at this stage, and the team is planning to bring back Get High. In this mode, which was introduced in Modern Warfare 3 (2023), players race across a special obstacle course map and the first one to reach the top wins.

The report also states that there will be a big focus on movement, with developers planning to involve martial arts in the gameplay. The leaker mentioned "karate kicks" and "karate chops" as examples, making us think that players will be able to perform those moves in some way as part of the combat mechanics.

All of this should be taken with a grain of salt, but given the leaker's track record, we can assume that there is some validity to it at this point in the development cycle.

Players first have to go through Black Ops 7 and the rumored Modern Warfare 4 before starting to think about the 2027 entry, so there is still some time until we shift gears to this. In the meantime, make sure to visit this article to read all the latest news on the upcoming game from Treyarch.
