It's no secret that the next Call of Duty title will also feature a Zombies mode, as the information has been around for several months. The game is rumored to be a Black Ops 2 sequel, with Treyarch Studios once again leading the development.

Even though the title hasn't been revealed, more details about the Zombies mode have leaked.

According to a report from InsiderGaming, Treyarch is planning to launch six round-based Zombies maps during Call of Duty 2025's life cycle. This doesn't mean all the maps will be available when the game launches, instead, the game will have six maps available by the end of its post-launch cycle.

The report also states that the developers are taking more liberties when it comes to the maps' settings, and even mentioned some that were in discussion. These are the map settings mentioned:

  • A map in a post-WW2 New York City where the Nazi's dropped a nuclear bomb.
  • A Japanese temple at the foot of an erupting volcano.
  • A map in Vietnam
  • A map in Afghanistan
  • A space station in the Dark Aether

The report clarifies that not all of these ideas might become reality, but some of them could end up being in the final product.

It is worth mentioning that the first reports of Call of Duty 2025 having a Zombies mode came after a private feedback session, and rumors indicated that a big map with a transportation system similar to Tranzit will be in the game.

Many believe this means we will see a new version of Tranzit, given that this is a sequel of Black Ops 2, but only time will tell. For now, we have Season 3 for Black Ops 6 and Warzone approaching soon.
