The Destiny 2 Guardian Games are back for 2025. With the start of Episode: Heresy Act 2, players will get to enjoy a ton of new content, including the ability to earn more upgrades for the Barrow-Dyad exotic SMG, more seasonal story content, and the beginning of the Guardian Games.
Like previous years, Guardians will have to earn Medallions, talk with Eva Levante to earn rewards, and try to get this year's slew of weapons and armor at their disposal.
You know the drill by this point, so let's break down everything you need to know about the 2025 Guardian Games in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2025 start date
Guardian Games 2025 will kick off on March 11 alongside the start of Act for Episode: Heresy 2.
Guardian Games will be different this year
As always, expect the event to last roughly three to four weeks, giving you plenty of time to grind everything it will have to offer.
Guardian Games 2025 activity
Bungie is making some substantial changes for this year's Guardian Games. Gone are GG Nightfalls and ritual playlists, instead, players will get to enjoy:
Guardian Games Rushdown
Rushdown is a unique boss rush mode where players will face off against powerful enemies from the campaigns, exotic missions, and seasonal content.
As you take down more bosses, difficulty increases. There will be a total of five encounters per run alongside a time limit to complete them. Note that time will be added to the timer once you finish an encounter and move to the next.
Completing at least three encounters guarantees a Guardian Games weapon to drop. We'll have a full breakdown of how to farm Rushdown so stay tuned for that one.
PvP
Beyond that, you'll still be able to join PvP activities paired with Guardians of the same class as you. Every Guardian Game activity will give you medallions to deposit at the podium to earn points for your class.
How to earn medallions in Guardian Games 2025
Similar to previous years, you'll need to complete a small introductory quest. Go and talk to Eva Levante at the Tower and she'll hand you the Best In Show quest.
After completing it, you'll need to equip the exclusive Guardian Games class item and complete Rushdown or PvP activities to ensure you start earning medallions.
On top of that, Eva can give you Contender Cards. Completing these will hand you extra medallions. They are divided into gold, platinum, and diamond tiers.
Guardian Games 2025 rewards
Fans who missed out on the Allstar Vector Skimmer will be happy to hear it will make a return for those who haven't obtained it.
A new trace rifle is up for grabs
New for this year is the Keraunios Arc trace rifle. It will pair perfectly with the Episode: Heresy mods that feature plenty of love for trace rifles. On top of that, the following weapons will return:
- Taraxippos
- The Title
- Hullabaloo
Guardian Games 2025 armor
The armor sets for this year are heavily inspired by ancient Greece rather than more contemporary sports. These will be available via Silver, Destiny 2's premium currency, or Bright Dust.
