Announced earlier today, the ESL Premiership will consist of 2 seasons - Winter and Summer - each with a £10,500 prize pool, and will kick off next week with the first of 2 open qualifiers. Qualifiers on September 12th and 16th will determine the 8 best teams in Britain before they will be divided into two groups of four, and play each other twice every Wednesday in October and November. Following this the top 2 teams in each group will be invited to the LAN Final on December 8th at the ESL Studio 1 in Leicester.
This is not the first Season of the ESL Premiership as, previously, Team Enyx was crowned the Season 1 Xbox Champions, however, this will be the first season of the tournament to take place on PC. The action can be watched on the rainbowsix_uk Twitch account and will be casted by the Northern Irish caster Harry “Demo” Dempster best known for casting DreamHack Valencia earlier in the year.
Unlike in the recent US Nationals and Canadian Nationals tournaments, to compete in the ESL Premiership your team needs just 3 out of 5 players to be British, meaning teams such as Team Secret will be eligible to play - you can read the complete rules and sign up for the tournament right here.
