Black Ops 7: Will Carry Forward bring Black Ops 6 cosmetics?

Carry forward means one thing...

Black Ops 7 You Know What You Did Last Summer

Black Ops 7 was officially revealed with a trippy campaign trailer at Gamescom 2025, and Activision released more info through a post on the Call of Duty blog shortly after the trailer was shown.

The post confirms something that was in the train of rumors for a few months: the new title will have the Carry Forward feature. For those unaware, this was first used in Modern Warfare 3 (2023) to indicate that all Modern Warfare 2 (2022) cosmetics were also available in the newest title. Now that the feature is confirmed, we have some more details about it to clear any doubts you may have.

Will Carry Forward bring Black Ops 6 cosmetics?

Yes, the Carry Forward feature will make most of the Black Ops 6 cosmetics available in Black Ops 7. However, there will be some exceptions since the new title has some clear differences from its predecessor.

Here are the exceptions, where Carry Forward won't apply per the Call of Duty blog:

  • Equipment and Scorestreaks skins for content unavailable in Black Ops 7 will not carry forward.
  • Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content updated for Black Ops 7 (for example, a Scorestreak that performs similarly, but has a different look and feel in BO7 compared to BO6) will not carry forward.
  • Black Ops 6 Weapon Camos will not be transferable to Black Ops 7 weapons, but still usable on Black Ops 6 weapons.

When will Black Ops 6 cosmetics be added to Black Ops 7?

The Carry Forward feature won't be completely live instantly, and Activision has detailed when the old cosmetics will arrive in the new game.

All XP tokens and GobbleGums from Black Ops 6 will carry forward to Black Ops 7 at the launch of the new title. In other words, once you download and start playing Black Ops 7 on November 14th, your tokens and your GobbleGums in Zombies will be ready to use.

However, the rest of the cosmetics, which include weapon skins, Operators, and Operator skins, will be added at the launch of Season 1. A start date for the first post-launch season hasn't been provided, but we expect it to begin in early December.
