Since they joined the R6 scene just before Season 7, Spacestation Gaming has sat near the middle of the North American standings with a joint third-place finish during Season 7, fourth place in Season 8 and fifth in Season 9. Despite this, and their current fifth place standings so far in Season 10, they have been improving drastically recently with a number of impressive LAN showings to their name.
Firstly we saw them finish just a few rounds away from making it into the DreamHack Winter grand-final before falling to PENTA Sports before repeating this performance just a few weeks later at the US Nationals in which they fell against the eventual winners, Rogue, in the semi-finals once again. Spacestation then continued to become the only team to take a map off of G2 Esports during the Six Invitational 2019 quarter-final before finalising their current roster with the addition of Fultz in a few weeks before the start of Season 10.
Now as Spacestation Gaming approaches the Raleigh Major, we spoke to Bosco to ask how they have been preparing for the event and what we can expect from them:
Your Pro League season has not been the smoothest so far -- what has been missing?
Our first split of the season wasn’t too bad but could have been better. We are right there. If our three draws were wins instead, we would be at 15 points and in the first place since we tied with DZ. Just have to close out these BO1 matches.

The group stages are to be announced two weeks before the Major kicks off, how do you go about preparing for an event when you don’t know who you’ll be playing?
Before knowing what group we were in, we were just focused on ironing out our issues on every map and refining areas of our gameplay that wasn’t working for us. Focusing on our teamwork and communication more than anything. The counter-strategy and VOD review would come into play once we knew who we would be playing.
The Six Major groupings
How do you usually warm up before a big match?
Before a match, I personally just like to Terrorist Hunt and listen to music that hypes me up. The routine doesn’t really change between the online pro league and LAN matches. I try to stay focused on the game, shut everything else out, and just enjoy doing what I love.
Fultz joined your team just two months ago, how has he fit into the lineup since?
Fultz has meshed very well with us. Of course, in the beginning, it was more difficult as he learned our strats and playstyle, but as more time went on the fit has felt better and better. He is one of the most talented young players out there and we are lucky to have him.
Which one team would you want to play at the Six Major?
G2. I don’t think any of us have been hungrier for a rematch in our competitive careers. The series against them at invitationals was one of the most intense matches we’ve played, and it would be awesome to have that opportunity again.
At the Vegas Minor SSG beat top European teams such as Giants, Vitality and Chaos but lost three maps against Liquid. What was the issue in this game and how have you fixed the issue?
Liquid had our number that event. They prepped very well for us and took advantages of our weaknesses. We also don’t believe we played our best against them. The losses to them taught us a lot and helped us develop into a better team. We’ll be ready the next time we match up against them.
What is your ideal location for the next Six Major?
There are a number of places I think would be awesome for the next Six Major. We haven’t had an international LAN in the APAC region yet. A major in Japan or Australia would be amazing.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?
To our fans, we say thank you for all the love and support through our roster changes and all the ties we’ve accumulated. We are all very excited to see some of you at the Major and win or lose we will always strive to be the best we can
