Wuyang will be joining the roster of playable heroes in Overwatch 2. The new character was originally announced at the Spotlight event back in February, and now we are close to his release.
Before that, players will get a chance to test him out during a trial weekend, similar to what happened with recent heroes. Here is everything we know about the new character so you can prepare accordingly.
When is Wuyang coming out in Overwatch 2?
Wuyang is scheduled to come out on Tuesday, August 26th at 11:00 AM PT (7:00 PM BST), once Season 18 kicks off. As always, the hero will be unlocked to all players, meaning you won't need to do anything to get access to him.

We expect the hero to be available in both casual playlists and Competitive playlists. However, he probably won't be added to Stadium at the start of the season.
When is the trial weekend for Wuyang?
With the mid-season patch for Season 17, Blizzard confirmed that the weekend trial for Wuyang will take place from August 14-18. During this time, players will be able to try the hero only on the casual Quick Play playlists.
What is Wuyang's role and nationality?
Wuyang, previously known by its codename Aqua, will be part of the Support hero lineup. This means that the role will now have 12 heroes after his arrival.
In terms of nationality, Wuyang comes from China. He is not the first hero from said Asian country, as Mei also comes from there.
