Marvel Rivals Season 3.5: Everything we know about the new content

The mid-season content is dropping soon

Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Blade trailer

Now that all seasons are set to last around two months, Season 3.5 of Marvel Rivals is coming sooner rather than later. This means a new set of additions is coming to the title, from the anticipated arrival of Marvel's vampire hunter to a new map and more.

We have prepared a summary of all the additions and changes coming to the hero shooter with this mid-season content update.

When does Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 come out?

Season 3.5 of Marvel Rivals is scheduled to come out on Friday, August 8th at 2:00 AM PT (10:00 AM PT). If a maintenance period is announced, players will have to wait two or three hours after said time to enjoy the new content.

Roadmap

NetEase posted the following roadmap for Season 3.5, where we can see most of the skins coming throughout the month, and we get a first-look at the new map:

New hero: Blade

The teasers are over, as it's time for Blade to finally join in on the fun. The antihero has been appearing in the game's lore since Season 1, and we will finally have a chance to use him. Here is the character's gameplay trailer so you can take a look at his abilities:

New Team-Ups

The mid-season will introduce two brand-new Team-Up abilities: Duality Dance and Vibrant Vitality. Here are the heroes required for each one and a short description:

  • Duality Dance (Adam Warlock and Luna Snow): Luna borrows Adam's cosmic power to attach herself to nearby enemies, turning damage against them into healing for her.
  • Vibrant Vitality (Loki, Mantis, and Groot): Mantis now grants life energy to Loki and Groot, allowing Loki's lamp to boost nearby allies' stats and Groot's walls to heal nearby allies.

Apart from that, the following Team-Ups will be adjusted, with some receiving a new hero and others retiring one of the participants:

  • Ragnarok Rebirth: Loki will be removed, leaving only Thor and Hela.
  • Chilling Assault: Iron Fist gets added, and he will spread the healing from his Harmony Recovery ability to nearby allies.
  • Rocket Network: Star-Lord joins, and he will now be able to place a teleportation beacon on the map. He can then teleport to this beacon, and it will have a 30-second cooldown between uses.
  • Lunar Force: Blade will join this Team-Up, allowing him to self-heal and become invisible for a short amount of time.

New map and game mode

Although nothing has been shown yet, the developers announced on the most recent Dev Vision video that a new map and mode will arrive on August 22nd. The map is called Throne of Knull, and it will be designed for a new mode called Resource Rumble.

Both map and mode will first be available in Quick Match, as developers plan to fine-tune the experience before adding it to Competitive play. No more details were given, so we will have to wait until we are closer to release to see the mode in action.

Other details

Here are other minor details about the Season 3.5 additions so you don't miss out on any of the new content:

  • In the event of an infraction, all voice comms will be screened and checked by a human moderator.
  • Players who quit a Competitive match will receive increased penalties, including a longer ban from playing and bigger points reduction. Players who stay until the end will receive points compensation. If a player leaves a match due to system issues, it can be reviewed, and penalties may vary.
  • The shader compilation system has been reworked.
