The Overwatch 2 Season 17 trailer is out, and Blizzard has pulled the curtain on almost everything coming to the game this time. Even though some of the additions were announced at the start of the year, more information has been revealed.
We have gathered all the major details, and some minor ones, so you can read about it and prepare accordingly for the new season.
When does Overwatch 2 Season 17 start?
Overwatch 2 Season 17 is scheduled to start on Tuesday, June 24th at 11:00 AM PT (7:00 PM BST). The new content will be added through a new update that PC players will be able to preload days in advance.
Barring any changes or delays, the season will run for exactly eight weeks, with a mid-season patch arriving in the middle to add the second half of content.

In case you haven't seen it or if you want to give it another look, here is the Season 17 trailer:
New map, reworks, voting
The season brings a brand-new Flashpoint map called Aatlis, meaning the game mode will now have three maps. The map is based on Morocco, showing off the country's culture.

It was previously announced that both Flashpoint maps, Suravasa and New Junk City, will receive reworks in this season. The changes are set to arrive in the second half of the season, probably with the mid-season patch.
Another great addition already confirmed is map voting. This will only be implemented in the Competitive playlist, and players will be able to decide which map to play on after finding a match.

Lastly, two maps are being added to Stadium: Esperança and Samoa. Both maps have been adjusted to fit the game mode's special setting.
Who is getting a Mythic in Overwatch 2 Season 17?
D.Va will be the star this season as she will be getting the Mythic skin. The following image shows us three different aspects of the skin:

The skin will probably also have a Gilded and Iridescent variant, as is the case for the other ones.
On the other hand, Reaper will be getting a mythic weapon this time, and here is a look at the shotguns with the cosmetic equipped:

Unlike previous seasons, both the mythic skin and weapon will be available from the start, meaning players won't have to wait until the midseason patch to be able to acquire Reaper's mythic shotguns.
