Wildcard and FURIA will meet in today's second match of the day, shortly after the encounter between DarkZero Esports and Weibo Gaming.
Wildcard are the favorites to win the match against the Black Panthers based on the teams' results since the start of Year 11. The North American lineup's regional results have improved drastically after some shaky performances on home soil during last year's season.
Meanwhile, internationally, Wildcard have reached the Top 8 in every competition they have taken part in since the start of Year 10—including RE:L0:AD, Munich, the Six Invitational 2026, and Salt Lake City, where they had to play with Matthew "Hotancold" Stevens as a stand-in to replace Adrian "Adrian" Tryka.
On the other hand, there's a huge contrast between FURIA's regional and international results. The Black Panthers won South America's Kickoff and finished in second place in South America's Stage 1. However, the Brazilians couldn't win a single game in Salt Lake City and struggled to reach the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026 Top 8.
Plain and simple, Wildcard, who come from beating Team Liquid Alienware and Team Falcons with not many issues, are expected to beat FURIA, who had to comeback against Weibo Gaming and FNATIC in order to reach the quarterfinals.
However, upsets happen frequently in Rainbow Six Siege; no game is over until it's over. Here's a brief look at the upcoming match between Wildcard and FURIA:
Head-to-head record
Wildcard and FURIA's current rosters have never clashed in Rainbow Six Siege. The only time both teams met was before FURIA's previous roster signed for Team Liquid Alienware; the match ended in a 2-0 win for Wildcard at the Six Invitational 2026 Group Stage.
Curiously enough, FURIA's worst rated player back then was Gustavo "HerdsZ" Herdina, with a SiegeGG rating of 0.77. He's the only player left in the Black Panther's current team who had played for FURIA back then.
It's also worth mentioning that Wildcard have only lost to one Brazilian team: FaZe Clan. The rest of matches between Wildcard and Brazilian rosters have ended in victory for the North Americans, including Elevate (RE:L0:AD), w7m esports and Ninjas in Pyjamas (Munich), Elevate and FURIA (Six Invitational 2026), and LOS (Salt Lake City).
The path to today's match
Wildcard reached the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026 after victories against Team Liquid Alienware and Team Falcons. The North Americans have yet to lose a map in this event and are one of the favourites to lift the trophy.
FURIA's path to today's game has been more tumultuous. The team's narrow 8-6 victory against Weibo Gaming on Kafe Dostoyevsky was followed by a sloppy 0-2 defeat against Europe and MENA's third seed Geekay Esports. Finally, the team reached the event's Top 8 after a 2-1 victory against FNATIC.

Wildcard
Wildcard's best player is the current best player in the competition Jacob "Bae94" Dowling. The North American player was the team's best player in Wildcard's match against Team Falcons, where he averaged a SiegeGG rating of 1.57. Bae94 went huge in Wildcard's win on Fortress, where he obtained 23 kills in 14 rounds played. His map rating was 1.96.
Against Team Liquid Alienware, Wildcard's best player was the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2025 MVP Adrian "Adrian" Tryka. He averaged a SiegeGG rating of 1.42, closely followed by Bae94's 1.27 and Evan "Kanzen" Bushore's 1.18.
FURIA
FURIA's two best players so far have been HerdsZ and Gabriel "volpz" Fernandes, with SiegeGG ratings of 1.16 and 1.14.
Despite the team's shaky international performances in recent times, the five players in the team have already proven their individual talent. It just feels like the team still need a bit of time to get used to themselves; after all, this roster was created from scratch just a few months ago. It's a matter of time the team starts getting the expected results.
Map pool and how the series could be shaped
Based on what we have seen in the last six months, we can have a vague idea of how the map veto could go between Wildcard and FURIA.
Consulate is the most banned map by Wildcard's opponents. Meanwhile, FURIA's most banned map is Consulate. It's a match made in heaven; Consulate's chances of making an appearance in this game should be non-existent.
At the same time, Wildcard's most banned map is Lair with a 100% ban rate. It would be a big shock if the North Americans didn't ban it today either, despite FURIA having lost it twice in a row recently against Geekay Esports and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
One map that could actually make an appearance today is Fortress. It's one of Wildcard and FURIA's least banned maps and both teams have shown they know how to play it. In fact, Wildcard have already played it twice in this Esports World Cup 2026, winning it against Team Liquid Alienware (7-4) and against Team Falcons (8-6). FURIA beat FNATIC there (7-3) as it was the Black Panthers' map pick against the orange roster.
It's also worth mentioning Kafe Dostoyevsky, which is Wildcard and FURIA's second-least banned map. Wildcard have played it five times this season, whilst the Black Panthers have played it eight times. They combine ten wins and just three defeats on the Russian map.
Another map that could make an appearance is Chalet. Although Wildcard banned it in their two matches against Team Falcons and Team Liquid, it's a map the team hasn't been afraid to show in the North America League. However, it's the most banned map by FURIA's opponents. The Black Panthers have only played it once this season; a 5-7 defeat against FaZe Clan.
Border, Nighthaven Labs, or Bank could make an appearance too. These maps tend to be banned quite a lot by both sides, but both sides have either already played there at the Esports World Cup 2026 or either shown their availability to.
