SMG-12 to be nerfed in Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 Season 3

Ubisoft confirmed in its most recent Rainbow Six Siege Community Checkpoint that Dokkaebi, Vigil, and Warden's SMG-12 will be nerfed in Rainbow Six Siege's upcoming season, Year 11 Season 3.

At the time of writing, the SMG-12 is known as one of the best weapons in Rainbow Six Siege. The gun has a cadence of 1,270, delivers 28 damage per shot, and each magazine has got 28 bullets. It's a crucial part of Dokkaebi, Vigil, and Warden's loadouts, making them highly versatile in terms of weapon options.

The South Korean attacker is arguably the most iconic operator when it comes to using the SMG-12. Combining her primary DMR with the SMG-12 creates one of the deadliest weapon combinations in the game. Moreover, the SMG-12 also allows Vigil and Warden to take aggressive gun fights, especially in close-range situations. It really is a terrific weapon.

However, the SMG-12's reign of terror is about to come to an end. Ubisoft has already confirmed that the SMG-12 will be heavily nerfed in Year 11 Season 3, which will be revealed in the final day of the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026, August 15.

One of the reasons behind this change is to make the SMG-12 a secondary gun. Logically, the SMG-12 is a secondary gun already. However, a lot of players use it as a primary weapon. A secondary gun should support the player in specific situations rather than stealing the show from the operator's primary choice.

The SMG-12 nerf is part of the overall Dokkaebi nerf that's coming in Year 11 Season 3. Since remastering the South Korean attacker, Ubisoft has had to make some tweaks to her gadget. More changes are on the way in the game's upcoming season.
