Sentinels and MIBR have become the first two teams from the VCT 2025 Americas to qualify for the Valorant Masters Toronto.
The Brazilian-majority mix was the first to secure a spot to compete in Canada after a one-sided victory against Group Alpha's top seed, KRÜ Esports.
With 13-8 and 13-5 victories on Lotus and Icebox, MIBR secured a first-ever international qualification. It will be the organization's first international appearance since the VCT 2023 LOCK//IN São Paulo, a tournament that included all the Riot-partnered organizations and that required no qualifying stage.
MIBR's Erick "aspas" Santos was the best player of the match with an ACS of 269 and 37 kills. The Brazilian couldn't be stopped by the Chilean squad and delivered a highly-consistent performance.
Meanwhile, Sentinels followed MIBR's footsteps shortly after as they defeated Group Omega's top seed G2 Esports. The Valorant Masters Bangkok grand finalists started the series on the right foot with a 13-5 win on Split. However, Sentinels ended up completing a great comeback after back-to-back 13-11 wins on Icebox and Ascent.
Surprisingly enough, three players in G2 Esports finished with better ACS ratings than Sean "bang" Bezerra, who was Sentinels' best player of the series with an ACS of 214 — Trent "trent" Cairns (248), Nathan "leaf" Orf (235), and Jacob "valyn" Batio (220). In the end, G2 Esports' individual efforts weren't enough to stop Sentinels from qualifying for Toronto.
Later today, G2 Esports and KRÜ Esports will have a second chance to stay alive in the competition as they will play against 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses, respectively. The winners of each match will face off against on May 3 for the region's final available spot to compete at the Valorant Masters Toronto.
