Legend Division made its debut in Rainbow Six Siege on October 15, 2026. Exclusive to Champion players who meet very specific requirements, Ubisoft introduced this playlist as the most competitive playlist ever released in the game.
On paper, Legend Division actually has all the ingredients to be the most completitive playlist in Rainbow Six Siege. However, a lot of players, especially professional players, have already complained about Legend Division. For them, everything is going south.
The two main problems with Legend Division are that, although the players involved are Champions, most of them don't know about basic strategies and lineups. Moreover, a big part of these players don't communicate during the match; or, at least, not in a healthy, competitive way.
Rainbow Six Siege professional players have already started posting about the most random stuff they have had to encounter. For instance, Team Heretics' player Luca "Zaaramy" Di Rosa posted a picture of a barbed wire placed in Bank's garage stairs—which doesn't make much sense. Another example is Shifters' player Roberto "Robby" Pintarelly screenshot of him having scored 26 kills in an 8-7 Legend Division match.
Geekay Esports' player Leonardo "Sarks" Sarchi, who currently tops the Legend Division standings in the EML region, has described the playlist like a game mode where "half of teammates don't speak, teammates still have no clue how to defense setups just like in ranked, and people dying within 10 seconds in the round not giving comms or watching cams."
G2 Esports' IGL Karl "Alem4o" Zarth has praised the game mode, saying Legend Division is a fun mode. Overall, it feels like Legend Division is fun as it offers a new competitive experience among the top Rainbow Six Siege players. However, it isn't exactly competition Rainbow Six Siege as not communicating doesn't have any type of consequences. As Legend Division is a SoloQ mode, you can't choose who to play with—meaning your teammates will always be random. This is the root of the problem for most professional players, who aren't used to the SoloQ experience.
While professional players have been quite critical regarding Rainbow Six Siege's Legend Division, popular content creators like Macie Jay have praised the game mode.
"Legends division is actually the best thing they added to Siege in a long ass time. I mostly have to solo queue so this is like ranked but with far more balanced teams. I Imagine if you regularly 5 stack it might feel like a downgrade though." - Macie Jay
Overall, Legend Division is the peak competitive experience in Rainbow Six Siege: only the best players can compete in Rainbow Six Siege's Legend Division. Mixed with the game's strongest safety requirements, Legend Division has what it needs to succeed. However, we feel like requirements should be strengthened. Maybe only Champion 1 and above players should be granted access. Maybe there should be some communication requirements. Ubisoft should think of solutions to preserve the playlist by making it even more closest to the Rainbow Six Siege competitive experience.
