Rainbow Six Siege release USD$100 Memento Weapon variant for MUTE Protocol 2026

MUTE Protocol 2026 Mythical Weapon Skin

MUTE Protocol has returned to Rainbow Six Siege. This time-limited game mode has been making appearances every now and then, and Ubisoft have chosen the next three weeks to host the futuristic event.

In MUTE Protocol, players must climb the weapon ladder until unlocking the golden hammer, which allows players to destroy the Brain Case. With infinite Respawn enabled, this is one of the most hectic and chaotic events ever released in Rainbow Six Siege. Fans tend to enjoy it a lot, so, if you haven't tried it yet, we encourage you to do so!

Logically, MUTE Protocol isn't everyone's cup of tea. However, even if that's your case, we're sure you will at least enjoy MUTE Protocol's cosmetics. The event's futuristic looks are some of the most popular bundles in Rainbow Six Siege, including skins for Oryx, Ying, Jackal, Vigil, and many more.

For MUTE Protocol 2026, Ubisoft have released brand-new cosmetics for Rook, Dokkaebi, and Castle, as well as other specific gun skins. Although these are already pretty cool, the icing on the cake is the MUTE Protocol Mythical Memento Weapon skin for Pulse and Castle's UMP45.

Memento Weapon Skins are always the jewel of the crown of time-limited events in Rainbow Six Siege. Like any other Mythical gun cosmetic, the latest Memento Weapon Skins have included unique weapon inspection animations. One of the most popular is Aruni and Dokkaebi's for Rainbow is Magic, which saw their rifle become a piano rainbow filled with teddy bears. How lovely!

Memento Weapon Skins released in time-limited events follow the theme of the event itself; therefore, for MUTE Protocol, don't expect a pink skin. Instead, the UMP45 is a futuristic, dark-colored skin, which can create a portal when the weapon animation is triggered. The sound effects are amazing, making it a very unique weapon skin.

Getting your hands on Memento Weapon Skins isn't cheap, though. In order to unlock an event's Memento Weapon Skin, you must first claim all of the event's cosmetics, which normally include 33 different items. With each Event Pack costing between 11,250 and 12,500 Renown, or between 270 and 300 R6 Credits, Memento Weapon Skins are often worth USD$60.

If that wasn't enough, Ubisoft have been walking an extra mile recently by adding an exclusive USD$100 bundle that includes a variation of the event's Memento Weapon Skin. Logically, MUTE Protocol 2026 has been no exception and Ubisoft have added a variant for Castle and Pulse's Sounds of the Future.

UMP5 Variant

It's worth mentioning that this USD$100 bundle doesn't only include the Memento Weapon skin variant as it also includes 7,200 R6 Credits. Purchasing so many R6 Credits at once is USD$50; therefore, the skin alone wouldn't exactly be USD$100. However, while this is true, if you want the gun skin you must purchase the whole bundle as you can't buy the items seperately. Additionally, the pack also includes a 7 Day Renown Booster.

The truth is that purchasing this USD$100 bundle gives players the option to unlock both Memento Weapon skins, as those 7,200 R6 Credits can logically be used to unlock all of the MUTE Protocol Event Packs.

Be as it may, Ubisoft releasing these expensive bundles is always a controversial move. For more information about Rainbow Six Siege and its esports scene, make sure to check out Siege.GG.
