Ubisoft has unveiled today the name of Rainbow Six Siege's new season, which will be revealed on August 15 right before the start of the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026 grand final.
Rainbow Six Siege's new season will be called Operation Split Fire. It will be Rainbow Six Siege's Year 11 Season 3. The final season of the game's Year 11 will be presented at the BLAST R6 Major Osaka, which is going to be played in November 2026.
At the time of writing we don't know much about Rainbow Six Siege's new season, Operation Split Fire. We know that the season will include a brand new operator who will be a direct counter to shield operators. We also know that Rainbow Six Siege's new operator, released in Operation Split Fire, will be Egyptian.
For years, players have been complaining about the state of shields in Rainbow Six Siege. Ubisoft releasing an operator that works as a direct counter to shields is the right choice. Logically, this will also heavily affect the meta, with shield plays being extremely common nowadays.
Operation Split Fire won't just bring a new operator. Players should also expect the launch of the Legends Division, which will be exclusive to Champion players, a nerf to all DMRs and the SMG-12, as well as a nerf to Dokkaebi's gadget and loadout. Moreover, other operator balancing changes, map tweaks, and even game modes should be announced during the reveal scheduled on August 15, 2026.
We expect Ubisoft to release more teasers in the next few days. In fact, Ubisoft already released one, where we can see the new operator reading the newspaper, which reads "shields continue to terrorize operating forces."
