Rainbow Six Siege 3v3 Arcade Game Mode: Everything you need to know

Ubisoft has added a time-limited 3v3 Arcade Game Mode in Rainbow Six Siege. The playlist will be open for two weeks, from September 8 to September 22.

Historically, Rainbow Six Siege has been a tactical 5v5 first person shooter. However, Ubisoft has recently given players the chance to compete in different formats. In Operation Silent Hunt, Ubisoft released the 1v1 Arcade playlist for the first time. The playlist was so successful that Ubisoft decided to bring it back with some changes in Operation System Override.

Despite how well the playlist has performed, Ubisoft has decided to give 3v3 matches a try. Throughout the next two weeks, players will be able to clash in 3v3 games. Here's everything you need to know about the Rainbow Six Siege 3v3 Arcade Game Mode:

How it works

The Rainbow Six Siege 3v3 Arcade playlist is an adaptation of the regular Rainbow Six Siege experience. It's played using the Bomb format, the only format available in Ranked games. Here are the four main changes:

• Preparation Phase time reduced from 45 to 30 seconds
• Six rounds to be played, only one round of overtime
• Role swap before the start of the fourth round

The most important tweak however is that players cannot choose the same operator twice. Once it has been played, that operator is blocked for the next two rounds.

It's also worth noting that there are no quiting penalties. If you have to go during your game, you can do so without worrying about getting penalized for it.

Maps

The Rainbow Six Siege 3v3 Arcade matches can be played in the following maps:

• Villa
• Clubhouse
• Chalet
• Kafe Dostoyevsky
• Oregon
• Border

Ubisoft likely believes that these maps are the ones that adapt better to a 3v3 match.

How to play 3v3 matches in Rainbow Six Siege?

For obvious reasons, 3v3 matches are way different to Rainbow Six Siege 5v5 games. The options and the amount of gadgets that teams can bring is more limited. Therefore, our advice is that players must come up with a plan before the round begins.

We believe teams should bring operators that can perform well in different situations as versatility is a treat that will elevate their chances of winning. In other words, don't bring three entries; you should bring one entry, one hard breacher, and a support. This way you can adapt to different strategies and lineups.

Keep in mind that this 3v3 Arcade game mode isn't a Ranked match. Try to have fun and enjoy this unique experience. If the game mode succeeds, we will likely see it making a comeback in the future!
