Overwatch 2’s new Season 17 is here, and the grind has officially begun as players race to climb the ranks. This season moves away from Season 16’s Dokiwatch theme and dives into a more arcade-inspired direction with the videogame-themed season called “Powered Up!”

Packed with 8-bit cosmetics and a new Mythic Skin for D.Va, this season already looks like a strong one.

Mercy mains in particular have something to look forward to: a brand-new All-Star skin for their favorite healer, available for free.

Stadium Ranks

To earn the Mercy All-Star Skin, players need to participate in Overwatch 2’s new game mode: Stadium. Originally introduced in Season 16, Stadium reimagines the hero shooter format with a fast-paced, arcade-inspired twist.

In this mode, two teams of five players go head-to-head, comprising 1 Tank, 2 Damage, and 2 Support heroes. What sets Stadium apart is its seven-round structure, with each round featuring a different game type. Most importantly, players can also customize their loadouts by upgrading specific stats and abilities, giving each match more tactical depth.

Simply playing Stadium isn’t enough. Like the Juno All-Star skin, you’ll need to reach the All-Star Rank in order to unlock Mercy’s All-Star Skin.

Stadium’s ranking system consists of seven ranks, each with five divisions. Climbing these ranks takes more than just good aim, it requires a solid understanding of your hero and a build that works well with your team.

Once you hit All-Star Rank, the Mercy skin unlocks instantly, letting you show it off in other game modes.

When does Season 17 end?

Each Overwatch 2 season lasts around eight weeks, but Season 17 will take a bit longer. According to the battle pass timer, the season is scheduled to end on Tuesday, August 26th.

Given that this season takes place in the middle of summer and with developers probably taking a few days off, this season will last one week more than expected. While earning the Mercy All-Star Skin will require some grinding, two months should give players plenty of time to make it happen.
