Season 17 of Overwatch 2 is now live, and this season's first collaboration event will be with one of the most well-known franchises from Hasbro: G.I. Joe.
Now that the crossover's trailer has been revealed, we have all the details about the new cosmetics arriving in the game once the collaboration begins.
When is the Overwatch 2 and G.I. Joe collaboration coming out?
The Overwatch 2 and G.I. Joe collaboration is scheduled to go live on Tuesday, July 1st, at 11:00 AM PT (7:00 PM BST), exactly one week after the Season 17 launch.
If the format from previous collaborations remains the same, the content will remain in the game for at least two weeks, meaning the event should end on Tuesday, July 15th, at the same time.
Trailer
Here is the gameplay trailer for the crossover, where you can see the new skins based on characters from the G.I. Joe universe:
Skins and cosmetics
The collaboration will introduce five new legendary skins based on some of the most popular characters from G.I. Joe. To be precise, two skins are part of the Joes while the rest belong to Cobra's forces, and that includes the commander himself.
Here is the list of skins, along with the hero receiving them, to clear out any confusion:

- Reaper as Cobra Commander
- Genji as Snake Eyes
- Freja as Scarlett
- Widowmaker as Baroness
- Doomfist as Destro
We expect all of these skins to be available to purchase from the in-game shop once the event begins. Each skin should come with other minor cosmetics such as Player Icon, Player Banner, Highlight Intro or Emote, and Sprays.
Other minor cosmetics could be available as rewards for completing special challenges from the crossover.
How much will the Overwatch 2 and G.I. Joe skins cost?
Although it's hard to predict how much the mega bundle, including all the skins from the collab, will cost, we expect each skin to cost around 2800 gold coins.
This has been the standard price for collaboration skins before, so we expect the trend to continue this time.
