Strategists in Marvel Rivals are the life-savers of every lobby. Since Season 3, they've only gotten stronger and even more dangerous to deal with.

After Ultron’s arrival in Season 2.5, the Strategist roster has grown from eight to nine heroes, with more joining in future updates. In this tier list, we break down the most-picked and meta-defining Strategists in Marvel Rivals Season 3.

Note: There are no Strategists below B-Tier as every one of them is viable to some degree. Their Ultimates are situational and can be highly impactful depending on the matchup.

S-Tier Strategists

Loki

Season 3 is finally Loki’s time to shine. Despite his Ultimate charge nerf that limits how often he can use it, he remains a top pick in high-elo matches due to his incredible survivability.

A skilled Loki is a constant thorn in the enemy’s side. He’s like a cockroach that escapes from teamfights without anyone noticing. His lamps are still crucial for countering damage-heavy Ultimates and clutching out fights with invincibility. Thanks to his versatile Ultimate, Loki remains the best pick for nearly any situation.

Luna Snow

Luna Snow continues to be a strong pick in high-level play, especially in the hands of someone who knows how to aim. Her kit is unmatched in combining survivability and offensive pressure. She can sustain her team during hectic brawls with her Ultimate, and she’s able to shut down Doctor Strange or any CC-reliant Ults with her freeze shot.

She’s a dangerous Strategist who can both heal and kill. A good Luna Snow doesn’t just keep the team alive, she picks off enemies with tactical ice headshots. She can even handle flyers, though don’t let your Luna Snow teammate hear that or you might get no snowflake at all.

Invisible Woman

Sue Storm remains an S-Tier support thanks to her beginner-friendly yet high-impact kit. She can push or pull enemies in a teamfight and deny zones with her psionic vortex. In high-elo play, a good Invisible Woman uses her skills to split teams and dominate key areas with her Ultimate.

She’s especially powerful on maps with bottomless pits. Hydra Domination and Tokyo 2099 are perfect for setting up knockbacks.

Both Luna Snow and Invisible Woman are stellar S-Tier supports, but players should watch out for counters like well-timed Magneto or Iron Man Ultimates. Otherwise, their invisibility fields won’t save them.

A-Tier Strategists

Mantis

Mantis has risen in the meta thanks to her healing buff. Her heals now scale by percentage, making her a powerful support against dive-heavy comps. She’s quick and can shut down divers like Black Panther or The Thing with her sleep.

While not ideal if you already have a Luna Snow or Invisible Woman, she makes for an excellent third Strategist with her Duelist-like pressure and healing output.

Cloak & Dagger

Cloak & Dagger haven’t quite reached S-Tier status, but they remain viable in high-elo play, especially when not facing counters like Iron Man or Magneto.

Tandy and Tyrone form a strong all-rounder duo: Dagger provides survivability with her dagger bubble while Cloak brings offense through his debuff wall and primary attack. A solid player will know when to switch between defense and offense, keeping the pressure on.

Rocket Raccoon

Rocket finds himself in a tough spot now that Phoenix has joined the roster. While he’s still great for healing at range and shredding tanks with his primary fire, Phoenix’s ability to cancel summoned objects with her Ultimate severely limits Rocket’s value.

Still, good Rocket mains can work around this. With his revive ability essentially making teamfights 7v6, he remains a threat. But make no mistake, a good Phoenix can ruin his momentum fast.

B-Tier

Adam Warlock

NetEase still refuses to give Adam a mobility skill, and that hurts his viability. While he’s a solid pick in high-elo lobbies, especially for players with flashy Lord avatars, he’s easily shut down by dive comps.

That said, in a triple-Strategist setup, Adam is an incredibly dangerous third support. His Soul Bond makes teams nearly invincible, and his second life and Ultimate can swing a game when left unchecked

Jeff the Land Shark

Jeff has been struggling to fit into the current meta, even after receiving ability and healing reworks. Yes, he can still devour a whole team and toss them into a pit, but he’s underwhelming in a double-Strategist setup.

With his movement nerfed, Jeff can no longer flank or go on DPS runs. He’s now reduced to a pure healer role, relying on sprays and bubbles. Unless it’s a triple-Strategist comp, he’s not recommended in high-elo play. There are simply better options.

Ultron

Since the nerf to his Imperative: Firewall ability, Ultron just hasn’t been the same. While still effective in triple-Strategist comps, he falls short in standard 2-2-2 setups.

His heals look good on paper, but they don’t hold up in extended fights. He remains a niche pick, useful mostly when building around a flyer comp. However, with Iron Man frequently banned, Ultron loses a key teammate and becomes far less impactful.
