G2 Esports have announced Nathan "leaf" Orf won't be traveling with the rest of the team to the Valorant Esports World Cup due to "health issues" as he is "currently going through treatment." Instead, G2 Esports' assistant coach Peter "shhhack" Belej will temporarily step in.

The Slovenian and Spanish coach has got some playing experience in Valorant's early days as he mostly competed in Spain's competitive scene. It's also worth mentioning that, before joining Valorant, he had a CSGO career as he competed in Spain's competitive scene for teams like Team Queso, Movistar Riders, and KPI Gaming.

In June 2023, the former player decided to retire and, six months later, joined G2 Esports as an assistant coach in his first and so far only coaching experience.

Since he joined G2 Esports, the team has collected two second-place finishes in the VCT 2024 Americas Stage 1 and Stage 2, back-to-back championships in the VCT 2025 Americas Kickoff and VCT 2025 Americas Stage 1, a third-place finish in the Valorant Masters Shanghai, a grand finals appearance in the Valorant Masters Bangkok, and a fourth-place finish at the Valorant Masters Toronto, as well as a Top 8 finish at the Valorant Champions 2024.

G2 Esports will make their debut in the Valorant Esports World Cup 2025 on July 8, 2025, against Karmine Corp. Then, the team will have to face against the winning or the losing side of the game between Paper Rex and Bilibili Gaming.

If the team successfully get out of the group stage, the players will secure themselves USD$40,000 and 200 Esports World Cup Club Points. However, keep in mind that, unlike in the Valorant Masters, the Valorant Esports World Cup 2025 doesn't have a double-elimination bracket.
