Netflix’s highly anticipated third season of the most brutal game show in the world drops this Friday, and it looks like Epic Games is jumping on the hype train with a special Squid Game collaboration in Fortnite’s Reload game mode.
With Squid Grounds being revamped with new maps and familiar Squid Game themes, an even bigger competition is also on the way called the “Squid Grounds Cup.”

When is the Squid Grounds Cup?
The Squid Grounds Cup kicks off on June 25. It’s a Duos Tournament taking place on the Slurp Rush map.
Top-performing players in each region will earn Squid Game-themed rewards, including the Games Guard Outfit and the Masterful Stare Spray.
Can console players join the Squid Grounds Cup?
Yes. The Squid Grounds Console Cash Cups will be available for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 users on July 18, July 25, and August 1. These are Battle Royale Duos Tournaments and are open to all players.
How to join the Squid Grounds Cup?
To join the Squid Grounds Cup, head into the ‘Compete’ tab in the game’s main menu and select the Squid Grounds Cup tournament. Players will need to have Two-Factor Authentication enabled and verified on their Epic Account. The account must also be at Level 50 or above to participate.
Cabined Accounts are not eligible to join.
When is the Squid Grounds Cup ending?
There’s no definite end date for the Squid Grounds Cup yet, as the events are subject to change. Stay updated through Fortnite’s official competitive schedule page.
