Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 3, is coming. Alongside it, Epic Games will drop patch v34.20. As you'd expect, players will be encountering server issues as they try to play following the patch. In this guide, we'll explain how to check the current Fortnite server status so you can determine if there is a general issue or if it is specific to your experience.

Epic Games is very communicative regarding downtime and server issues, especially when a new season arrives. The new update that will also bring more content to Chapter 6 Season 2 is arriving soon, and sadly, that means downtime.

Are Fortnite servers down?

Fortnite will be in the early hours of March 25, at least depending in your region. Downtime is set to start at 4 AM ET/9 AM GMT.

We don't know how much space you'll need to download the update but we recommend you check your storage before the servers go down so the patch automatically downloads in your console or PC.

How to check Fortnite server status?

The best way to keep track of what's happening with Fortnite is via the official Fortnite Status Twitter account. The dev team regularly updates fans via social media and it's the fastest, most reliable way of keeping tabs on downtime and other upcoming maintenance periods.

When are the Fortnite servers coming back up?

As always, the downtime is expected to last roughly five hours, however, the period can be extended due to unforeseen circumstances.

There have been some extreme but rather rare cases where Epic Games has been forced to extend the downtime period for almost 24 hours due to server issues. The longest premeditated downtime period lasted 36 hours when the infamous The Blackout live event occurred back in 2019.
