Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 is right around the corner. After the highly successful return of an earlier version of the battle royale, Epic Games has turned it into a separate permanent mode for players to enjoy.

First returning as Chapter 4: Season OG in 2023, players could relive their memories from playing between Chapter 1: Season 5 and Season X. It was a mini-season within the main Fortnite continuity.

Due to fan requests in December 2024, Epic decided to turn the concept of Fortnite OG into its own separate mode, kicking off with Chapter 1 Season 1.

If you're trying to jump into OG and take a break from the current Chapter 6 Season 1 content, then let's break down everything you need to know about Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2.

Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 start date and downtime

OG Chapter 1 Season 2 is set to kick off on January 31. Players will be able to launch Fortnite OG from the main hub once they launch the game on their preferred platform.

Expect the usual downtime prior to its launch as Epic is also releasing patch 33.30 alongside the debut of OG Chapter 1 Season 2. At the moment, we don't have an exact timeframe but we'll update this article with information once the developers release it.

Surprisingly, not a lot of details about the battle pass were leaked. We do know based on promotional images that characters such as the Black Knight will make a return.

As for the cost, if it's on par with Season 1 of Fortnite OG, expect it to cost 1,000 V-Bucks. Alternatively, you can obtain it too by subscribing to the Fortnite Crew service.

And that's all we know about Chapter 1 Season 2 of Fortnite OG. Epic has been very coy as their main focus remains on Chapter 6 Season 1, but expect many surprises yet to be revealed.
