Where to find a TIE Fighter in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
Oddly enough, my best recommendation to find a TIE Fighter isn't near the First Order base, but rather in one of the small Resistance outposts on the map's northern side.
More specifically, the one just outside Flooded Frogs:

Once you go there, you'll see a TIE Fighter needing repairs. Interact with a control panel that will task you with finding enough fuel to power up the ship.
Don't worry, all the fuel containers will be marked on your map and within a mere few meters of the TIE Fighter, so getting them should be a breeze. Once that's done, get close to it and simply press the button prompted to repair it.

How to pilot a TIE Fighter in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
TIE Fighters aren't exactly versatile ships. They're rather stiff, but they pack a punch with their cannons. These are the controls:
Flying your way to a Victory Royale
- R1: Land (near the ground)
- Circle: Boost
- R2: Fire
- L2: Free Look
- R3: Switch Seat (If you're flying solo, you won't be able to pilot the ship)
- Square: Exit (hold)
