The recent Destiny 2 Edge of Fate teaser has some clues as to what the future might entail for the franchise, including a strange word: Kepler.
Knowing Bungie, nothing is random. The developers have become popular for incredible advertising campaigns with ARG to elevate the hype. With that said, the Edge of Fate teaser has a ton of information to break down even for a 15-second cinematic.
One of the things that caught the eyes of fans is the word Kepler. What does it mean? Let's find out.
What does Kepler mean in Destiny 2?
Kepler is a new term in the world of Destiny 2. However, it has a proper definition outside of it. Kepler is the name given to "exoplanets" found by the NASA Kepler satellites.
The cool thing about them? These planets are found outside the Solar System. If you've been following rumors surrounding Codename: Frontiers, you'll know that the big exciting thing fans are hoping is that we get to explore beyond the reaches of what we've seen the past decade.
Fans will get to see what The Edge of Fate is all about when the upcoming Destiny 2 DLC reveal happens on May 6.

Let Bungie cook
From the roadmap shared last year, expect The Edge of Fate to be one of two expansions Destiny 2 is set to release. These will be smaller than the previous one-expansion per year model. Each will be broken down into two different content drops to keep Destiny 2 always updated to keep fans coming back to it.
Essentially, Kepler is a small nod to the future of the franchise, we'll hopefully see more implications in the near future when more is revealed about The Edge of Fate.
