As previously announced, Call of Duty WWII was recently added to the Xbox Game Pass catalogue. All the PC Game Pass and Ultimate Game Pass subscribers are now able to enjoy the Sledgehammer Title for free.
However, this trip to the past hasn't been a pleasant experience for many of the PC users. Hours after the game was added, hackers started flooding the servers on said platform, cheating in matches with aimbot, kicking players from the game with custom messages, and even sending messages through the Notepad application from Windows.
Given that the game is almost eight years old, hackers (or rather, people with a lot of free time on their schedule) were able to easily expose these vulnerabilities and do all the things we mentioned.
Many community members have started posting about the situation on X (formerly Twitter), warning everyone who wants to test the old COD on PC not to do it.
Just by looking at the clip above, it's safe to say that the multiplayer side of Call of Duty: WWII is unplayable. Xbox and Activision haven't said anything about the situation, so it's unclear if the developers plan to chip in and bring any sort of patch.
This is the first pre-COD HQ title that gets added to the Game Pass catalogue, so this kind of situation was to be expected for a game that hasn't received any updates in a while.
