After many rumors and speculations, the first teaser for Black Ops 7 was revealed at the end of the Xbox Games Showcase 2025.
The teaser starts with a mysterious character played by actor Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls, This Is Us), who receives a tour from a peculiar-looking robot.
The actor then gets sucked into a virtual world after touching a TV screen and goes through many scenarios until it meets, you guessed it, an old-version of Raul Menendez, the main antagonist in Black Ops 2.
Menendez also revealed that the character we've been following is none other than David Mason, son of Alex Mason and the main protagonist of Black Ops 2.
This basically confirms the rumors that Black Ops 7 will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, with Mason Jr. at the lead again. The character was portrayed by Rich McDonald in the 2012 title, meaning Ventimiglia will take over the role in this new title.
In case you haven't seen the teaser or if you want to give it another look, here it is:
Shortly after the teaser was shown, Variety confirmed that Ventimiglia is taking over the role and announced two more cast members: Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Walking Dead).
Shipka will play a new character called Emma Kagen, while Rooker will reprise his role as Mike Harper from the Black Ops 2 campaign.
The teaser doesn't give us a release date, but in the meantime, you can take a look at all the leaks and rumors we have been getting in the past months in this article.
