As we get closer to the next Fortnite Festival season, many rumors have been circulating about who could be the next Icon after Sabrina Carpenter.
Although it seemed clear that Deadmau5 would be the next star, especially after the different reports and in-game teasers, a new rumor indicates that the Season 9 Icon will be none other than Bruno Mars.
Leakers ShiinaBr and SamLeaks first shared this rumor on their X accounts. Both sources warned that this information could be wrong, but with only a few hours before the official reveal, many are awaiting to see if this becomes a reality.
As ShiinaBr explained in a reply hours after sharing the rumor, Deadmau5 will still be added as a new skin to the game at some point, however, the headliner for Season 9 will most likely be the pop star.
Players will have to wait for the official announcement, which is set to take place on June 17th, to know if this rumor becomes a reality.
Apart from headlining the season, Mars will receive several new cosmetics that players can use across the different Fortnite experiences. These cosmetics will include at least one skin for the normal battle royale experience and a skin for Fortnite LEGO.
Fortnite Festival Season 9 is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 18th, after the respective update. This will also be the last update before Epic Games employees go on a short summer break, meaning we will have to wait more than usual to get more new content into the game.
