It's always lovely to see developers listening to the community's feedback. After all, players are the ones who actually make a video game successful, regardless of the size of the title or the company behind it. Logically, Fortnite and Epic Games are no exception.
On June 18, 2025, Epic Games released a brand-new game mode called Blitz Royale to Fortnite. As soon as it hit Fortnite, Blitz Royale became extremely popular for multiple reasons.
First, Blitz Royale is 32-player game mode that takes place on a reduced map, making it really difficult for players to hide from enemies. This makes the game dynamic, with most of Blitz Royale's matches lasting for around five minutes.
With plenty of looting available, players should have no problems to find the right loadouts to get ready to survive on the arena. If that wasn't enough, building isn't allowed. All of these ingredients combined have created an extremely fun experience that players don't want to lose; therefore, the Fortnite community has already expressed their desire to never lose Blitz Royale.
Well, Epic Games may have granted this wish as, according to leaks, Blitz Royale will become a permanent mode in Fortnite.
Blitz Royale is a unique experience in Fortnite and so far it has proved to be a big success. While it's fair to say Fortnite doesn't do too bad in terms of player numbers, the player tally should never be big enough to stop caring about the community. So, adding Blitz Royale to Fortnite as a permanent mode is a great way for Epic Games to prove that the players' voice matters.
Compared to a standard match of Fortnite, which often lasts around 20 minutes, Blitz Royale offers a more compacted picture of what this game is about. As building isn't allowed in Blitz Royale, matches are four times shorter than in normal Fortnite games, and players will find it really easy to engage in gun fights against enemies, it's fair to say Blitz Royale is a great game mode for mobile players and newcomers.
