Format

The Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2025 follows a format that's slightly complicated to understand for newcomers. Here's a breakdown of it:
Pool Play
The first stage of the Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2025 is the Pool Play. The 40 teams in the competition are divided into two pools, Pool 1 and Pool 2. Each pool has 20 teams.
On Day 1, the first set of rosters will face off in the arena and only the best seven teams will qualify for the Grand Final. The teams that finish between eighth and seventeenth will move to the Last Chance Qualifier. Finally, the bottom three teams will be knocked out.
On Day 2, the second set of rosters will face off in the arena following the exact same format. By the end of Day 2, 14 teams will have qualified for the Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2025 Grand Final, while 20 teams will still be alive in the Last Chance Qualifier.
Last Chance Qualifier
The Last Chance Qualifier will give 20 teams a final chance to make it to the Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2025 Grand Final. Only the best six teams will make the cut, while the remaining 14 teams will be eliminated.
Grand Final
The 20 remaining teams will face off in a Match Point Format. The first team to hit 50 points and secure a first-place finish in any upcoming match will be crowned as the winner. After that, the final team ranking is decided by the number of points awarded in the series.

Teams

The Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2025 will include 40 teams. While five of these secured their presence through the ALGS 2025 Open, the rest of the teams clinched spots through their respective regional Pro Leagues.
Here's a list of the teams that will compete in the Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2025:
ALGS Open 2025
- Team Falcons
- Alliance
- Al Qadsiah
- 100 Thieves
- Shopify Rebellion
While it's always difficult to name a favorite in Apex Legends, it's fair to say the ALGS Open 2025 champions Team Falcons are the better fit to take that label.
Last year's Apex Legends Esports World Cup champions, Alliance, finished in second place at the ALGS Open 2025, which automatically make the European roster a force to consider too.
The list is completed with Al Qadsiah, 100 Thieves, and Shopify Rebellion, with the latter being the strongest side of the three result-wise as before the ALGS Open 2025 the team had also finished in fourth place at the ALGS Championship 2024.
Pro League Americas 2025
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- All Gamers Global
- NRG
- ROC Esports
- TSM
- FURIA Esports
- Team Liquid
- Twisted Minds
- KOI
- FUSION
- Virtus.pro
- Sentinels
- Team Orchid
Americas is the most represented region in the Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2025 with 16 teams — the previously mentioned Team Falcons, 100 Thieves, and Shopify Rebellion, as well as the 13 teams that qualified from the Pro League Americas 2025.
Ninjas in Pyjamas are likely the strongest team on this list as they finished above Shopify Rebellion and 100 Thieves, and only behind Team Falcons. The team's coach is Elias "raven" Ghribi, mainly known for winning the ALGS Championship 2023 and the ALGS 2023 Split 1 Playoffs with TSM. Since his arrival in Ninjas in Pyjamas three months ago, the Swed powerhouse has made a big step forward in terms of results.
Other teams to watch out for are the esports powerhouses NRG, TSM, FURIA Esports, Team Liquid, KOI, and Virtus.pro.
Pro League EMEA 2025
- Natus Vincere
- Team Nemesis
- GoNext Esports
- Zero Tenacity
- MOUZ
- Gaimin Gladiators
- EVOS
While Alliance is EMEA's strongest team at the moment, viewers shouldn't forget about Natus Vincere's roster, which include the current world champions — who won the ALGS Championship 2024 for GoNext Esports.
Two other names to mention are MOUZ and Team Nemesis. The German esports organization surprisingly qualified for the Esports World Cup 2025 shortly after landing on the Apex Legends esports circuit. Similarly, the British roster finished in third place shortly after an underwhelming 67th place-finish at the ALGS 2025 Open.
Finally, Gaimin Gladiators' Esports World Cup 2024 performance can't be forgotten, as the team finished in fourth place. Only one month later, the team finished in second place at the ALGS 2024 Split 2 Playoffs. Unfortunately for them, since then, the players have been struggling to improve their performances.
Pro League APAC North 2025
- SBI e-Sports
- NOEZ FOXX
- ENTER FORCE.36
- RRX
- UNLIMIT
- Fnatic
- KINOTROPE
- Crazy Raccoon
The APAC North 2025 community is possibly the loudest one in the Apex Legends esports circuit, and that's why the Japanese city of Sapporo has recently become the game's capital as it will host the upcoming two editions of the ALGS Championship.
Therefore, having teams from APAC North is always great news. In this edition of the Apex Legends Esports World Cup, we will see six Japanese and two South Korean squads, with Fnatic and Crazy Raccoon being the most popular names on the list.
Pro League APAC South 2025
- VK Gaming
- Gen.G Esports
- JD Gaming
- S8UL Esports
- Rival Esports
- Wolves Esports
- EDward Gaming
Last but not least, alongside Al Qadsiah, the APAC South region will have eight teams in the Apex Legends Esports World Cup 2025. Despite the lis being short, the region is bringing some of Asia's biggest esports powerhouses in Gen.G Esports, EDward Gaming, JD Gaming, and S8UL Esports.
