The BLAST R6 Major Osaka has begun!

BLAST R6 Major Osaka

The BLAST R6 Major Osaka is already underway! The play-ins include DarkZero Esports, LOS, Virtus.pro, Weibo Gaming, All Gamers, TYLOO, KINGZERO eSports, and Dplus KIA. Today, all eight teams will be in action and only two will qualify for the Swiss Stage. The action will resume tomorrow as two more teams will reach the Swiss Stage.

We understand that following the BLAST R6 Major Osaka may be challenging, especially for European and North American fans. For this reason, we believe this Live Thread will help you to catch up with today's games.

Here's what's going on in Osaka, Japan, in the very first day of the event:

2:33 AM CET - DarkZero Esports beat TYLOO (7-3)

Match stats: DarkZero Esports 7-3 TYLOO (Clubhouse)

The BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City champions kicked off the BLAST R6 Major Osaka with a one-sided victory against China's third seed, TYLOO. The Americans have become the first defending champions to win the opening game of a Major.

With a SiegeGG rating of 1.53, Ethan "Nuers" James was the best player of the game. He also secured a K-D of 11-3 (+8) and an entry balance of 3-0 (+3).

Alec "Fultz" Fultz (1.39) and Nick "njr" Rapier (1.25) followed Nuers as DarkZero's best players. It's also worth noting that nine of the ten entries of the game were earned by DarkZero Esports.

3:19 AM CET - LOS beat All Gamers (7-3)

Match stats: LOS 7-3 All Gamers (Clubhouse)

LOS started their BLAST R6 Major Osaka run with a 7-3 victory against All Gamers. Although we saw some one-sided rounds, LOS had some trouble against the Chinese, especially in the early stages of the rounds: seven of the ten entry kills of the game fell into the hands of All Gamers.

The CN League team had trouble especially on attack, as five of their six entry kills only ended in one round win. After switching sides, LOS didn't take much time to win the game.

With a SiegeGG rating of 1.25, Victor "Daffo" Pedron was the best player of the series. João "Nuxxga" had one of his best performances in recent times, as he averaged a SiegeGG rating of 1.19.

4:11 AM CET - Weibo Gaming demolish Dplus KIA (7-3)

Match stats: Weibo Gaming 7-3 Dplus KIA (Bank)

Weibo Gaming secured the third 7-3 win of the day after taking down Dplus KIA on Bank. The Asian super roster had no major issues to defeat the Brazilians. With a SiegeGG rating of 1.80 and a KPR of 1.50, Weibo's Wu "Reeps96" Weichen stole the show. He was closely followed by his teammates Aldi "Hovenherst" Firmansyah and Park "Gotti" Geon-woo, who finished the game with SiegeGG ratings of 1.26 and 1.25, respectively.

Weibo Gamings' victory means that they will likely play against Virtus.pro later today for a spot at the Swiss Stage. We will update this article as soon as the game between the Bears and KINGZERO eSports comes to an end.

5:00 AM CET - Virtus.pro ran over KINGZERO eSports (7-1)

Match stats: Virtus.pro 7-1 KINGZERO eSports (Lair)

Virtus.pro secured a one-sided victory against KINGZERO eSports on Lair. The Bears only lost one attack, as they won all of their defenses. As seen in other games involving CN teams, the Hong Kongese-majority roster secured six of the eight entry kills of the game. Their early game was good, but they couldn't wrap things up. In fact, their only round was also shaky, as it was a 1v1 clutch.

With a SiegeGG rating of 1.54, Nikita "RORICK" Kruchinkin was the best player of the game, followed by Ilhan "Nayqo" Jabbari's 1.45.

These results mean that DarkZero Esports and LOS will face off in the next match. Later, Weibo Gaming and Virtus.pro will clash in the final game of the day.
