BLAST R6 Europe and MENA League 2026 Stage 2 Week 3 Preview: Virtus.pro to play against Falcons and G2, do-or-die week for FNATIC, and more!

The BLAST R6 Europe and MENA League 2026 Stage 2 is back today with its third week of action. The matches, which will be played on Monday and Tuesday, will give us a better picture of the teams' chances of qualifying for Osaka and the Six Invitational 2027.

Without further ado, here are some of the most important storylines of the week:

Virtus.pro to face two tough tests in crucial week

Virtus.pro had a great start to the split with three consecutive wins against Team Heretics, FNATIC, and Team Secret. In the process, the Bears had only lost four rounds and headed to the fourth playday of the stage leading the standings. However, Geekay Esports shocked the team with a great performance on Border that saw the European mix claiming a 7-5 win. Combined with Twisted Minds' maximum overtime defeat against Team Heretics, the Bears fell to second place. Therefore, Virtus.pro's goal in Week 3 is to restore their lead.

It won't be an easy task, though. The Bears' next three games will be against three of the toughest sides in the competition, including Twisted Minds and Team Falcons this week, followed by G2 Esports on September 28.

Virtus.pro have only faced off against Twisted Minds twice; at the Europe and MENA Six Invitational 2026 LCQ and at the BLAST R6 Europe and MENA League 2026 Stage 1. Given that their first clash still included Virtus.pro's full Russian roster, the only precedent that's worth keeping in mind is their latest game, with ended in a 7-4 victory for the Bears. However, since the additions of Yanis "Mowwwgli" Dahmani and Alexandre "BlaZ" Thomas, Twisted Minds have looked improved. It will be a tough match for both sides.

Only one day after their encounter against Twisted Minds, Virtus.pro will have to face off against Team Falcons. Since the start of the season, both teams have met five times. The record includes three wins for Team Falcons, all of them in BO3 series, and two wins for the Bears. The last two encounters were won by the Falcons, who are the favorites to win against the Bears.

Perfect week for G2 Esports to climb back

G2 Esports' start to the stage couldn't be worse as they began with a 1-7 defeat to Twisted Minds following Karl "Alem4o" Zarth's internet issues and a 4-7 loss to Team Falcons. In Week 2, the team bounced back with victories against FNATIC and Rebels Gaming. This week, the samurai are facing off against Shifters and Team Heretics.

The samurai won't have it easy against either of them, who have been showing signs of improvement in recent days. Against Shifters, the players will face off against the former samurai Ben "CTZN" McMillan, who signed for the Swiss esports brand shortly after the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026. This should be the toughest test of the week for G2 Esports, although the BLAST R6 Salt Lake City quarterfinalists have already beaten them twice this season.

Finally, G2 Esports' second game of the week will be against Team Heretics. Although the Italian-majority side has struggled throughout the whole season, the additions of Vivien "Lasmooo" Berthelot and Skeptic have slightly improved the side. The best example of this improvement is their latest result, a maximum overtime victory against the current leaders Twisted Minds.

Team Heretics' perfect opportunity to prove themselves

Team Heretics started the stage making two impactful roster changes, the previously mentioned signings of Lasmoo and Skeptic. Their arrivals forced the team to create new chemistry between the players and also to change to English in-game comms.

Team Heretics' first week of the stage was a mix of feelings as they lost their first games against Virtus.pro and Team Secret. Against the Bears, the European mix could win three rounds, which was already seen as an improvement. Meanwhile, against Team Secret, the team had to use Mateus "matz" Rocha as a stand-in to replace Lasmoo. The game ended in a 5-7 defeat, a clash that could have ended in the hands of Team Heretics if the Frenchman had been in the roster.

One week later, against Geekay Esports, Team Heretics were taken down by a 3-7 score. However, one day later, they bounced back with a promising maximum overtime win against Twisted Minds. Now, it could be the time for Team Heretics to shine; although it will be difficult as they will face off against two of the toughest bones to crack: Team Falcons and G2 Esports.

While it's hard to imagine them beating both sides in the same week, the growth Team Heretics has experienced is worth mentioning. The new players as well as the addition of Ricardo "Rickzz" Silva as the team's new coach has left fans a good impression. It's up to the players to keep building and improving.

No room for mistake for FNATIC

FNATIC first three defeats against Team Falcons, Virtus.pro, and G2 Esports were followed by a 7-5 victory against Team Secret. On paper, it's never great to start a stage with 3 out of a possible 15 points. However, truth be told, FNATIC have already faced off against the three-best sides of the league. The next five matches are more realistic tests for the orange side.

This week, FNATIC will play against Rebels Gaming and Geekay Esports. These two matches will finally give the viewers a better impression of how ready the orange roster is right now, after losing Ben "CTZN" McMillan and Jimmy "DEADSHT" Vojtasik to Shifters.

FNATIC are well aware that growing throughout the stage is the main goal and qualifying for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka is going to be a pretty hard challenge to achieve. Week 3 will is a do-or-die for the team, especially considering how highly contested the fourth spot is in the region, with Twisted Minds, Geekay Esports, and Shifters being the favorites to follow Team Falcons, Virtus.pro, and G2 Esports.
